Former liberal Prime Minister of Italy Matteo Renzi has dismissed alarmist claims in the global media that incoming Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is a danger to democracy telling CNN the idea that now there is a risk of fascism in Italy is absolutely fake news.

At the same time, I think [Meloni] is not a danger [to] Italian democracy, Renzi continued. She is my rival, and we will continue to fight each other, but the idea that now there is a risk of fascism in Italy is absolutely fake news.

She has a majority coalition, and probably she will be I think next month  the next Prime Minister, Renzi said, before doubling down on his claim that democracy is not at risk.

That is very important, because I fought against her, but at the same time, I think there is not a danger for fascism in Italy,Renzi affirmed.

You mistake me for someone else.  I don't dismiss anyone on the Right as racist.  Some are, some aren't, some are in a gray area where bias is largely unconscious.  And that's true for people all across any political spectrum.  I have no doubt there have been Left-wing policies, well-intentioned, that reflected bias n the form of "this is the help they need."  Same goes for the Right. 

That said, your ASSUMPTIONS about what drives criticism of Walker reflect bias about partisanship and a narrow focus on race.  People criticize Walker because he tells a lot of lies and spouts ignorant drivel.  As others points out, that's not really a disqualification for the US Congress, but it should make us question competence to lead.

You know, there is a difference between someone who supports a racist or discriminatory policy or makes an argument that has racist or discriminatory connotations and a racist. I have tried, and probably too often failed, to make that distinction. And, of course, many people ignore the distinction when it is made anyway.

I also used to distinguish between people who race bait and racists, and what RedDickJimmEspn did in the post
i was responding to was the former. But I realized that people who dare you to call them racist usually are, and so do not make that distinction anymore.

Democratic Pennsylvania Senate nominee John Fetterman has elicited sharp social media criticism following an odd moment in a recent speech in which he seemingly confused the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers NFL Teams while trying to tell a joke.

 The Eagles are so much better than the Eagles!  Fetterman said during a speech to a crowd of supporters in Philadelphia, appearing to say  Eagles instead of  Steelers, and seemingly experiencing what his campaign has called  auditory processing issues stemming from the stroke he had earlier this year.

A number of Twitter users slammed Fetterman, with one expressing shock at what he described as Fetterman's inability to speak clearly.

 John Fetterman says the Eagles are so much better than the Eagles. This dude legit cant speak, worst candidate nominated by either party for statewide office this year. By far, commentator Clay Travis tweeted.

Fetterman has faced continuous pressure over his health following the stroke as his Republican opponent, Dr. Mehmet Oz, and a number of other critics have questioned numerous instances in which he has appeared to have trouble speaking during events.
