There was zero chance that this brand new Republican congressman elect from New York would be shamed into giving up his seat

Indeed.  The frau and I were laughing over the NPR story this morning, from the sheer outrageousness of the lies.

The climate lobby wants to force all homes and buildings to shift to electric heating even though it is less efficient than gas furnaces in frigid weather....

And more efficient when you look at energy use over the whole of the heating season, and allowing for a resistance coil backup which many installations will have in colder areas. A poor journalist indeed who doesn't include that fact.  And the related fact that the heat pump does double-duty as a highly efficient AC unit, removing the need for two separate systems.  Also worth noting that with gas, some waste BTUs always go up the flue, which is not a problem with heatpumps or electric heat generally.

Simple English translation for Ward:  You are an idiot.

Absolutely true.

But somewhat untrue when you look at units designed for frigid climates that use underground circulation rather than ambient air circulation.  Between 32 and 60, the ambient air HP is cheaper than natural gas.  Where winter is long and many periods of below 32, you would use a ground circ HP instead.  There is no sinister "climate lobby" that would push for installing a configuration for Atlanta someplace like Minneapolis or Missoula.  There is more than one type of heat pump system, and clean energy progress only happens when the HP install fits the local climate.

Another day, another strawman.

All electric?
That didn't work for Texans when the blizzard paid them a visit and the electricity went off.
They were chopping up their furniture for firewood.

Moral of the story:
"Never rely on one source of energy for:

1. Heating
2. Cooking
3. Cooling "

A stack of firewood, some newspapers, an axe, and some matches and gas lighters...and heating and cooking are taken care of.
Available, reliable, and affordable.

Texas has a vampire grid. That is why the neighboring states will not help it out.

A distributed multi sourced grid divorced from fossil fuels is coming. You should see what formula one racing has done for rooftop windmills recently. Solar, wind and battery go and grow hand in hand.

Red is being replaced by bots. Bots do a better job.

Anything that does not glorify terrorists makes you very uncomfortable these days for obvious reasons.

They just pulled it off the AP service.  Same story from all the media outlets.  By all objective measure it remains a fact that Santos lied his ass off.  I understand it must he painful for you to watch your party continue its decline as you try to keep us distracted as it sinks into the cesspool.

And sad to see Santos steal Jonathan Miller's classic "Jew ish" joke and piss on it.
