Of course viruses are "manipulated" in labs. It's called gain-of-function research and has been a standard approach that has given us most of our vaccines, as well as two thousand years of improved food stock. GoF research is not some sinister conspiracy.

The questions remain from where did Covid escape to infect the world,
Why was any research pointing to the Wuhan Lab suppressed,
Why does China refuse to allow scientific inspection of the Lab possibilities?
One does not have to pose sinister intentions on the lab, but if it was human error while conducting Gain of Function that would be a vital piece of information going forward.
Labeling those who want to know the truth
conspiracy theorists or worse, is disgraceful.
And ignores the purpose of scientific research.
