When you let fascists run propaganda mills that are allowed to tart themselves up as news organizations you always get instability. Fascists do not get to murder anybody without a good amount of instability so that is always their first priority when they start to infect a culture.

By now every EU nation has its own equivalent of our republican party.  Some poor and increasingly desperate countries have failed to stop those parties taking control. I mean poor here as unfortunate rather than low on cash, but right wing governments always destroy wealth and income for spite and from malice so that meaning can also be applied accurately. This puts stress on the EU and perforates and degrades unity and communication.

For this stretch, no nation in the club has bashed another with its ground forces which was the main point. So the organization is a fundamental success despite its thinness, underfunding and light touch. Also countries are still working to join the EU today. No one who is not a paid Russian agent tries to leave the EU or spends significant energy bashing it, barring those who are suckered by said agents.

Anything that brings us closer to a global government that can constrain billionaires and bloody minded bastards is a cathedral to an almighty and all loving god, a piece of good shepardry that enriches the flocks and the pastures.

The EU is certainly that. May it continue its success, outlive its detractors, and keep spreading as it makes things a little better and a little safer everywhere it goes.

The best consolation to trump not having been fed to the rats that overrun all his properties yet is the draining off of right wing dirty money this cycle.

Hopefully his lawyers can loot a few hundred million from the stupid mass of right wing contributors before the primaries or the result of any case has been determined. That might help us get back to 2009 levels of congressional responsibility and competence if we do the leg work which so far we are.

One thing the Donald did was put the clamps on the "horde" in the USA. Amazing how quickly the bombings, mass shootings, and suicidal religious trips ended.
