If behind a paywall, might be helpful to have a screenshot....

What is your point, if any?

Brooks, not for the first time, reflects on his own privileges and blind spots as member of an educated professional class.  And, acknowledging Trump is a monster, points out his continuing attraction to those who feel educated professionals are ignoring them and blocking their social mobility.  Brooks isn't really coming clean because he has been making these points for at least a decade.  Like many moderates, he is dogged by the feeling he could have reached out more (and encouraged others in the elite to do so) to the working class and helped keep more crusty old working class folks around newsrooms.  I agree with his takedown of the modern meritocracy (you read that part of the column?).
I read the whole column or else I would not have linked it.
As always I have no power to make you understand it.

He also smoothes over the racism that maintains the status quo among the non elites.

Took me a while, but I finally realised that facilitatorn is non-White.
Now everything makes sense...the 'global govt' nonsense, 'keep on marching' - excusing all the violence etc.

A mindless troll. All whitemen are evil his momma told him. He just wants to piss everybody off, contributing nothing. Teddy R. and IKE were two fine Republican presidents. Pity the USA with just fringe Dems in charge. Like the sistahs now. Open borders, boycott Israel. disrespect the vets and unions, make war with China, don't produce fuels. Tax money for aliens. only aliens deserve inexpensive housing, everyone else can go sleep in the streets.

I fully believe Red read the headline.
Then you obviously did not read my post.

It must be tough for you to see the reliable left turning to a newer narrative that concedes the weaknesses of the old one.

Hunter now says he told his Dad it was okay to recognize his out of wedlock granddaughter so as to
blunt GOP criticism!

The GOP has been beating Biden up on that issue for months for anyone paying attention which Biden easily ignored

It took Maureen Dowd in The NY Times to spotlight her sister ( a Biden lover) and her distaste for Joe ignoring his own flesh and blood to almost immediately change the elder Biden stance.

Guess you missed that.
That was in the Brooks article?

Hint: no.

Teddy and Ike were the last two republicans to serve who were not documented and confirmed traitors to the United States throughout the entirety of their time in office.

I played squash with Teddy Roosevelt IV at his club in Brooklyn when I was a younger man.

Bambi and Luee, if you are determined to have a race you can both be pallid and unhealthily pale. People would believe that. No one is buying it that either of you are white. Go to a paint store and hold swatches to your skin and you should begin to understand this clear and obvious point.

Red seems ready to embrace the narrative that the left is saving the economy and the culture through good policy and excellent management while the right is too conflicted to figure out wether to fuck or fight at their internal private orgies and can only point fingers, shame God, kill babies and spread disease.

That is what the American people are thinking and it is what both republicans and Democrats will confirm invariably throughout the rest of this cycle.

It must be tough for you [addressed to Lime] to see the reliable left turning to a newer narrative that concedes the weaknesses of the old one

Do you have the slightest idea who David Brooks is?  The reliable Left?  I would laugh, but this blooper plus your apparent inability to grasp why I would do the courtesy of posting a free screenshot to a pay walled article, suggest I am talking to someone feigning dementia to score childish points.  Or perhaps the dementia is now real.  If the latter, sorry for your troubles.

The token moderate of the New York Times who has the audacity to call out the left for its hypocrisy. Of course I do.

So Brooks defined you to a T.  And you do not get it.

Red has been cast out of the right for his excessive paranoia and perpetual faux victimhood. He now sees the entire political system as far far to his left. He is ok with it because there is more horse paste for him to eat out there on the fringe with so many fewer mouths to feed in his movement.

Since DeSantis has now directly threatened so many lives, doing unto him first counts as standing your ground anywhere in Florida.

Will someone explain to the troll what is wrong with only having one party in control with no counter balance? I myself would prefer a multi-party system like in most of Europe tied to different issues.

Terrible Dem presidents for me include LBJ and Carter with sleepy Joe getting close.

Counterbalance is great. Socialists, Greens, technocrats, trade unionists, small government curmudgeons step right up!

The republicans are a criminal death cult. You would not want MS13 balancing out the cops. Allowing republicans to remain in politics to balance Democrats amounts to exactly the same thing.

The Whigs, No Nothings and Bull-Moose are all gone. Either the republican party or The United States must soon follow. For one to live the other cannot survive.

Luee, your child bride wants you back in her tit sling with her leftovers and her car keys. Also she really wishes you would stop trying to deport her parents.
