When climbing a mountain, footholds are helpful.  Giving an underrepresented group a foothold is one of the ways to "get more elected."  So, granted that some politicians may do such appointments for cynical reasons, it still helps that group climb the larger mountain.
When did politics ever get done from only pure motives?

What?  Seems unresponsive to the points raised.
I am sure Mr.Granderson will respond to yours.

This is an online forum.  You posted a quote you agreed with.  I challenged that point of view, which is generally seen as soliciting some response from you - the person who initially posted.  I don't expect that Granderson is a member of Elba, or inclined to post a reply here.

And I do not ever expect you to get the point Granddrson  was making.  Better for you  to talk directly to him than clutter up this forum with your word salads.

What!

Biden says we need a Border Wall?
The Hell you say.

There is presently an acute and immediate need to construct physical barriers and roads in the vicinity of the border of the United States in order to prevent unlawful entries into the United States in the project areas pursuant to sections 102(a) and 102(b) of [the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996], DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said.

Biden had put a halt to new border wall construction in early 2021, after then candidate Biden had promised there would not be another foot of wall constructed on my administration.
The administration said that wall construction under the Trump administration was just one example of the prior Administration  misplaced priorities and failure to manage migration in a safe, orderly, and humane way.

Tne Birder is, I believe, a Toledo area fried chicken restaurant, which closes at 9:30. Meaning, as I look at the clock now means The Birder is now closed!

But I guess I should note that RedDick has once again argued Biden has an "Open Door" policy by citing evidence that he does not.

Red prefers venting his spleen over raising arguments. Too much thinking in the later versus too much pressure in his former.

Red cannot and will not defend what he posts but does not understand

Republicans, when they're not corrupt or sexual predators or complicit in sexual predation (like one leading candidate for House Speaker!), are evidently small children.  Somebody needs their naptime.

Travel tip for New York City.

Families should pose  as illegal aliens and maybe get free hotel rooms!

News Item

The University of Pennsylvania is basking in the glow of two researchers who this week were awarded the Nobel Prize in medicine for their pioneering work on messenger RNA.

For one of the winners, Katalin Kariko  the prize was a triumph over fellow scientists at Penn who doubted her work.

Penn had demoted Kariko  shunting her to a lab on the outskirts of campus while cutting her pay. Her colleagues denigrated her mRNA research and some would not work with her, according to her and people at the school. Eventually, Kariko persuaded another Penn researcher to work with her on modifying mRNA for vaccines and drugs, though most others at the school remained skeptical, pushing other approaches.

Kariko has not  only proven her detractors wrong but also reached the pinnacle of science. Her research with Weissman helped lead to the mRNA vaccines that protected people worldwide during the Covid 19 pandemic and now shows promise for flu, cancer and other diseases.

Penn, which patented her mRNA technology, has made millions of dollars from drugmakers that licensed it. And on Monday, when Kariko was  awarded the Nobel, on top of prestigious science prizes in recent years, the school basked in her glory.

Another reminder of the danger of silencing views outside the norm that was rampant throughout the media and Big Tech in the Covid years.( think the Great Barrington Declaration where scientists were shunned only to be proven right).  And countless others.

Also, of the benefits of a robust and welcoming immigration policy. Though to be fair, most anti immigration people are not concerned with white Europeans.

The clear obvious veracity of Oilcans observation is why more and more people share and spread that point of view.

Red is going down with the republican shitshow where ever it takes him while the American people are ready to call that way of life, governed by greed and flop sweat, a brown site and cap it with cement lest it further pollute the land doing more damage to our food and water supply.

RedDick has an interesting definition of "proven right".
