He cannot run because Trump has a headlock on the performative hatred voting bloc. Among other reasons.

And the ability to politically grandstand by passing laws he fully knows are unconstitutional does make him an attractive candidate in today's Authoritarian version of the Repo party, as well as with haters and bigots like you.

Abbott is a corrupt man running a corrupt administration in a failing state. He is on the wrong side of Jesus and the rule of law. He also had the benefit of watching Ron DeSantis getting eviscerated for being the same kind of scummy awful governor he has been and sees that Ron running has brought him closer to the big house than it did to the White House. Abbott not only messed with Texas, he messed up Texas. He knows America does not want any of that. Rolling blackouts and hospital closings are the pinnacles of his accomplishments as executive.
