The Mexicans are extremely hard workers, and the dollar is very strong in Mexico, we can use money to improve the situation in Mexico, and they can grow eggplant the size of watermelon like Israel. Mexico can be nice like Israel, and like Italy and Spain. There is no reason for poverty and human suffering and crime in Mexico. Instead of building a wall then we need to send Youth For Christ, and Kiwanis International, and the Catholic Church, etc, to improve the situation in Mexico.

Carlos Slim is worth over $100 Billion dollars now, and he could do a lot of wonderful things to help the Mexican people.

My Grandmother opened Gold Mines in Mexico and helped to bring running water, and electricity, and telephones, and radio, and television, etc, to some very poor parts of Mexico. And we have satellites now that can tell us where the Gold is located.

Also, Mexico is building new high speed trains right now, and new airports, and new resorts, etc, lots of money is being invested in Mexico. And they can invest in their ports, etc.

The dollar is strong, and we can use money as a tool to improve the situation in Mexico. We do not need any walls. Instead of spending money on walls the money would be better spent to give them schools and libraries, and we can invest in Mexico and we can improve the situation in Mexico.

Your basic idea is good, Tony.  So-called "soft power" means the US using economic leverage and direct aid money throughout Latin America (Mexico is not the most in need, in this area) to help countries in crisis fix their problems and thus their citizens do not feel compelled to flee their homelands.  It is the fundamental principle that it is more expensive to help refugees than to fix a nation so there aren't refugees in the first place.   (which, yes, has an even more fundamental principle behind it, the one about an ounce of prevention...)

I remember Vice President Harris was talking about helping the people in El Salvador, etc, and to make it better so the people do not have to flee. I fully support social programs and education and libraries, etc, and like you said, an ounce of prevention.

We can also send people to teach those in Latin America about successful gang reform programs such as Father Boyle and Homeboy Industries, and also about Father Flanagan and Boy's Town.

In Colombia we have been working together with Shakira to build schools and help the children. Shakira is a saint. We have made a lot of progress in Colombia since the 1980's when it was horrible. Then with Pastrana, and Uribe, and Santos, etc, Colombia had some Harvard educated leaders, and Colombia made a lot of progress.

We can also do more with the Peace Corps in Latin America, etc. We need to spend more on the Peace Corps.

And the CIA is supposed to be all about preventing problems before they happen, and so too is the United Nations.

I fully support an ounce of prevention versus a pound of cure. And I think Vice President Harris understands.

I get the feeling some centrists (where Luee has in the past seemed to position himself)(IIRC he had some positives to say about Bernie back in the day) look at Haley set next to Agent Orange and then she looks pretty good.  So if Migrant Menace is your hot button, then you can see  her as the rational policy maker.   Centrist Never Trumpers can admire her ideological fluidity, and rightly point out that Nikki likely won't try to destroy democracy and sell off the Republic.  Nor is she a rabid maniac like Vivek or an ethical swamp like Christie or etc.
