Anywho, I invite anyone to tell me that if they were in a burning building and there was a table with a newborn baby in a box, and a table with 12 frozen embryos (blastocysts, actually, not yet embryos - the courts and media always get this wrong), and you could only carry one, you would grab the blastocysts and leave the baby.  Because the legal ruling is saying the blastocysts are legally children, and so you would choose the box with 12 rather than one?  I don't think so.

It's a philosophical thought experiment, used to illuminate the reality that a baby is a person but a frozen blastocyst is not.
