Nate Cohen on the Times poll.

That said, it would not  be hard to explain if Vice President Harris  support really has faded a bit in recent weeks. After all, she was benefiting from an ideal news environment: an uninterrupted month of glowing coverage from President Biden departure from the race in July to the Democratic convention in August. It is possible she was riding a political sugar high, if so, it would make sense if she came off those highs in the two uneventful weeks since the convention.

There is also a plausible reason the Times/Siena poll would be the first to capture a shift back toward Mr. Trump, There simply have not been many high quality surveys fielded since the convention, when Ms. Harris was riding high. There was a scattering of online polls this week, but there has no been a traditional high quality survey with interviews conducted after Aug. 28.

Possible, plausible and plausible

In other words Fuck if I know!

Since we are guessing I would bet since this poll was in the field after Labor Day families are busy getting back to work and back to school.

So I would lay money on this poll oversampling tetired Republican voters.

See how that works?

heh

Red has never believed in capitalism or free markets. That is why he will be voting against America again in this election.

Big Lots catching hell on the high interest rates incurred when took out loans to meet the consumer demand when economy reopened after pandemic. But with the housing market slow folks just are not into buying cheap ass house goods.

Do a VC group will buy the company and their debt then cut costs in order to turn a profit. Goodbye a bunch of stores and jobs because of a miscalculation by corporate operators.

It's easier to blame it on Biden.  Especially when you're voting for Trump.

Yep. Easier to blame the market than yor at risk business model. And most of their stores will remain open after the sale to Nexus.

It's easier to blame it on Biden.
And most  accurate.
Even he now admits the Inflation Reduction Act was a mistake.

Walk into a BigL store sometime.  (I did, once)  Res ipsa.  Big piles of the sort of crap that goes into a garage sale a few months later.  Or a dumpster.

Also, as science guy, I thank you and anyone who points out periodically that correlation is not causation.
