Before Donald gets carried away with tariffs on China etc...he should stop and think deeply...
US exports of agricultural products to China totalled $33.7 billion in 2023.
Soybeans the largest part of that.
American farmers, farm workers, and people across America who depend on  that export income...voted for Trump.

He can use tariffs as a weapon, but he can industrialise America without ruining farming industries.
If he were to ask me...lol...I'd advise him to tread softly softly with China and use subsidies for manufacturing in America instead of tariffs, at least to start with.
If he goes slapping tariffs on things made in China, the first thing China will do is slap a ban on US agricultural imports.
Not just a tariff, but a total ban...just like it did with Australia.

Arizona and Nevada make Trump a winner with 312 electoral Votes.
I guess Jeff Beezos is due a victory lap for saving the Washington Post from a baffling HARRIS ENDORSEMENT.

Nothing, however, can save you from your own idiocy.

The Chinese cannot ban our soybeans without an economy shattering surge in their food prices.  Unlikely tactic.

But your comment on the value of subsidies rather than tariffs was sensible.

Tariffs would cause mindbending inflation in the US - hopefully Trump's handlers will redirect him on that.

The New York Times analyzes the election today.
In all 34 states where at least 95 percent of votes were in as of Wednesday evening, the vote margin for Mr. Trump had increased, even in places that historically favored Democrats.

As Bernie pointed out in my clip posted yesterday, she needed to talk pocketbook issues, front and center.

It is both astonishing and sadly telling that the upside down racist idiot understand tariffs better than Trump.

I think Trump understands tariffs perfectly. Demagogues say what they have to.

Interest Rates are coming down, Biden and Harris handled everything great, they did a good job with COVID, and they handled the economy well, Inflation is down to 2%, Biden did a great job.

Bambu, the USA started with Tariffs on Imports, and no taxes on American Citizens, until World War I. The Government tried to put a Whiskey Tax on Americans early on, and the Americans rioted. The Americans did not want to pay taxes, so the Government used Tariffs on Imports.

Greece wants the Americans to think about retiring to a Greek Island, I told them that it would be great to retire to a Greek Island and I told them that we need Medical Care, Blood Tests, and Pharmacies, Greece is a 1st World Nation and I am sure they have good doctors, etc. I am sure a lot of Americans would like to retire to live in Greece. And I told them to send the great Greek architects to Battle Mountain, Nevada, etc. ( When I was a teen my friends all wanted to retire to the Bahamas, and I guess they do not have taxes in the Bahamas. There was an actress at the AADA from the Bahamas and she was beautiful.)

Salute,

Tony V.
