Agree, to the extent that I see the need for real and civil conversations about what DEI actually means. (just as I do for how trans females fit on a girls sports team) We need to keep talking to each other and keep listening and not comb over every utterance to extract ways to be outraged. However this would mean all sides on the issue would have to stop creating crude caricatures of their rival position. Sure, most who disfavor DEI are not white supremacists, and hey, also, most who favor DEI are not advocating reverse racism or Maoist indoctrination. If Republicans want tolerance and respect from liberals and progressives, then they need to also offer that.
I've had a couple fairly pleasant experiences discussing trans rights with conservatives, where we could both agree on some basics. E.g. where size and bone mass disparity really makes a difference, in contact sports, then we shouldn't belittle parental concerns and maybe should consider alternative tracks that still let everyone have a place to play. And conservatives need to be open-minded to genuine developmental differences (relating to epigenetics and hormone levels during gestation) that make gender dysphoria a real medical condition and not some adolescent whim.
