Texas and Florida are probably cooked though.

No great loss.

CA will remain one of the world's great innovation hubs.  I thought the Wired story might be just a puff piece but was pleasantly surprised at how it gets into details of the state rolling up its sleeves and starting trends that others will follow.  I have hopes even for your water supply woes - solar desalination plants, anyone?  And xeriscaping is already taking off.  Keep on keepin on, Cali.

I've just started a journey in 'Rural California'...youtube video with Peter Santenello "The California Nobody Knows".

The problem that we have had in California in part is that we are bringing in foreign communities which do not embrace philosophies such as helping the poor and the homeless and the foster children and the abused women, etc. They just build a prison and then hire cops to patrol, and they do not give a shit about the homeless. In Hollywood it was against the law to feed the homeless when I was poor and homeless on the street there. I was clean and sober with a college degree begging for an honest job, and Hollywood needs cheap hostels for $15 per night like in Rome, Italy. Hollywood has 1 Million Persians from Iran and they do not give a shit about helping a homeless Christian.

But, now the Knights of Columbus are selling Home Insurance, with the money going to Catholic Charities, etc, so that will help the poor.

Mayor Bass is helping the homeless now, which is good.

And we need more Mental Health Associations like the one in Santa Ana, and more Wellness Centers like the one in Orange.

We also need to give a free college education to all of the Foster Youth.

Christians are supposed to help the poor and the homeless, and now a lot of people are not Christians and they do not believe in helping other people, they are selfish and greedy and they think that the American Dream is just about money and greed, they are fucked in the head like Donald Trump.

It is good that the Knights of Columbus are taking over the Housing Insurance Industry, and the money can go to charity.

Salute,

Your party was rejected in a landslide.
50.1% of the vote and a smaller vote margin of victory than Hilary Clinton had when she lost in 2016. One suspects your definition of "landslide" comes from your wish being father to your thoughts.
58/42 ( with 18% from a clean sweep in the BATTLEGROUND states) and the House and the Senate.
So, roughly the same as the Dems did in 2020. Your dear leader won and your party carried Congress. Congratulations to them. But your description of it as a landslide is just your rabid pro Trump partisanship. You should have both the 2018 and 2020 cycles, as well as their own success this year in mind. Politics changes on a dime and a 0.1 "landslide" can disappear in an instant.

A landslide is a landslide.
Ignore it at your peril.

It is a landslide of shit.
It will be too noxious and pestilential to ignore.

Right now billions of dollars are being invested in Anaheim and to bring the film and television industry back to California, and Anaheim can get a piece of the pie on the film incentives, etc.

Also, we need to allow the Latin Americans into California to dilute the high number of Persians and Arabs in California, we need to have some Roman Catholics at the top who help the communities. And the Knights of Columbus selling Insurance and using the money for Charity, that is great. And the people from the Philippines are welcome here in California, etc, and the Chinese, etc. Immigration is healthy for the USA.

Mayor Bass is doing good, and leaders are helping the poor now, so we are making progress. Trump winning does not make Mayor Bass go away, we still have Mayor Bass.

And we need to have schools instead of prisons, etc. We need to nurture our youth.

My neighborhood is experiencing gentrification and the rich people are moving in now, but we still have some big Latino families here. We have people here from Guadalajara, and from El Salvador, etc.

Also, I am inspired by the great schools in the USA.

My apartment complex used to be all full of Latin Refugees, and it was owned by a rich man from Taiwan. One very rich man owned this whole complex, and we had parties here, etc, with live music and a swimming pool and tacos and pizza, etc.

But right now, all of the shops on Anaheim Blvd are empty, we need to bring in entrepreneurs to open the shops, and we can open shops from the Universal City Walk and from Downtown Disney and from Venice Beach, etc.

City Hall designated one area of Anaheim to be "Little Arabia" but it is just a couple restaurants on a strip mall, and the Vietnamese opened a Massage Parlor right in the middle of their Little Arabia strip mall. This area is all Mexicans, from the Farm Workers for Sunkist and Knott's Berry Farm, etc. This area is not Arabian. This area is mostly Mexicans and 20% Asians.

The San Miguel Corporation from the Philippines is welcome to do Business in California.

And right now Kentucky is doing great, and we can train the Doctors and Dentists and Psychiatrists, etc, for the USA in Kentucky, etc, we can build new Medical Schools in Kentucky, etc.

Anaheim is going to be very rich soon, and we can have a Film and Television Industry here.

And Mexico needs to keep improving their image, and Claudia Sheinbaum is great.

Salute,

Tony V.

We should have expelled the equivalent number of bigots during that time.

No bigots just the homelesss and sticker shocked. Santa Joe has not a clue of the great harm he has done. What sex and drug trafficking, what lack of housing? What crowding of shools and hospitals? The Vets and poor will be fine just a little budget cutting here and there. Goodbye you crazy old man!

Well Nancy Pelosi filed forms today to seek reelection in 2026 at the age of 86.

Gladly she will waste away on the way-back bench of the House, the only Speaker to have lost the House, twice.

From the New York Post

It is  high time to shatter the myth of Nancy Pelosi as a master strategist. Nobody deserves more blame than the ridiculously self-titled speaker emeritafor the Democrats  $1 billion electoral collapse.

If the GOP is the Trump party, the Democratic Party is the Pelosi Party and what a nest of blame-shifting and rancor it has become, as they all blame each other for their humiliating defeat at the hands of the man they derided as a Nazi. Most Americans did not agree, and now the Democrats and their media handmaidens stand exposed as frauds and liars.

If Trump is such an existential threat to democracy, as Pelosi insisted to the bitter end, why did Joe Biden greet him with open arms and a beaming smile the other day and the words WELCOME BACK!

So, three years younger than Chuck Grassley when he successfully ran for a six year term in 2022 without a peep from you.

Because he is a good man and a class act. Unlike the amoral, asshat, poor loser who did not extend him the courtesy in 2020.

Grassley is a powerful Committee Chair in the Senate.
If Pelosi is reelected she will be a lowly backbencher for a minority party in the House.
I think there is absolutely no chance she will be welcomed by her colleagues to run again.
