Bankshit's favorite player. Why? Because that's what he would do.

I'm a band-wagon Bruin fan.

As you are a band-wagon Flyer troll.

Except I'm not a troll-asshole like you.

I suddenly became a pro-hockey fan when Bruin games were broadcast on UHF TV in the mid-60s.  And everyone needed the round antenna to watch Bobby Orr.

Before that I was a kid that played hockey (so-so-never mastered skating backwards) for maybe 6 or so weeks a year on local ponds and the Charles.

I wouldn't call it Bruins v Blues a rematch as it took place 49 years ago, but it almost seems like yesterday, and it gave us one of the more iconic sports photos.

A great goal. An amazing picture.

But... the Bruins were up 3-0 in the series. That OT goal clinched the sweep. The Blues were never in that series.

Yup that series was over before it started.

The photo of Orr soaring in truimph was the thing. It became iconic, and joined other special moments, and taking a parochial view Fisk waiving the ball fair. Less parochial Willis Reed's walk-on, Maz's 9th inning walk-off, Kirk Gibson, Tyree's horse-shoe up his ass catch...

It was a great come from behind series win for the Flyers and a terrible choke job by the Bruins, for all that I didn't watch it.

But it's really sad that your fond memories of the Flyers are at best a year when they lost the Cup, 4-2. The Flyers were such a promising franchise when they got going in the 70s. Who knew that 44 years later they would not have won another Cup, passed by such johnny-come-latelies like the Islanders, Devils, and Oilers.

I suppose "Glory Days" is an appropriate song for you, Ham.

The Flying Orr might have to move over a little for the Flying Krug.

That was an amazing hit.

After the rust came off the Brunes totally dominated that game.

Blues tie it at 1-all

and I think thats the Blue's first SC Finals win as in ever

they played a very physical and game and wore out the Bruins and eventually cashed in OT

onto St Looey

A tremendous win on the road in that hostile house of blathering idiots!

Boston is singing the Blues!

Only question is who will they blame for losing?
