Cashner is...

His ERA at Fenway coming into the trade was 7.00;

his ERA at Fenway since joining the Sox? 8.51.

Cora keeps starting him

Figured that out, did you?

Cora has used 7 starters other than Sale, Price, Erod, and Porcello, in a total of 27 starts. 108.2 innings, or 4 innings per start on average. 86 runs given up. ERA? 7.12 collectively.

You want to pin it on Cora? Go right aread, but I think it's on (a) the GM and (b) the rest of the starters. Yeah, the 5th starters have sucked, but if the "big 4" had won more than 55% of their games, if Porcello and Sale's combined ERA was a run better than 5, instead of over 5, things would be different.

Make your argument for why Cashner's failure to perform is Cora's fault and who you would have him starting, instead.

IMO, I might try Workman, whose starting ERA is 50% higher than his career relief ERA, which is itself roughly double is 2019 relief ERA - but at least he averaged 5+ inning per start, with a sub-5 ERA in those starts!

But to what end given this season?!

Workman's the closer.

Thank you, Captian Obvious.

Tonight he worked in a non-closing role, as he has done along the way.

I'd consider it. Given his success in his current role, it is hard to take that away from him.

So, I repeat my earlier, since dodged, request. Kid:

Normally, I hate to blame injuries for a season unraveling, especially when the offense's performance is below expectations, but the reality is the Phillies have been decimated. Now, if it was New York, there'd be a call to fire the trainer. But in Philly, they are having their own version of Grady Little Syndrome. Or maybe it's Bobby Vee Syndrome?

As far as prospects for this team making the playoffs, in the hearts of most Phillies Phans, the Eagles have landed.

Gore's a losing move in the fall. You should try to pick up Bush, instead.

What?  The production from Cashner, Cora’s fault?

While I do believe the best coaches/managers can affect a pitcher in a positive manner.... of course the key is where the manager uses the player

And, again:

You can't just take a pitcher out of the rotation. You have to put somebody else in.
