Cora keeps starting him
Figured that out, did you?
Cora has used 7 starters other than Sale, Price, Erod, and Porcello, in a total of 27 starts. 108.2 innings, or 4 innings per start on average. 86 runs given up. ERA? 7.12 collectively.
You want to pin it on Cora? Go right aread, but I think it's on (a) the GM and (b) the
rest of the starters. Yeah, the 5th starters have sucked, but if the "big 4" had won more than 55% of their games, if Porcello and Sale's combined ERA was a run better than 5, instead of over 5, things would be different.
Make your argument for why Cashner's failure to perform is Cora's fault and who you would have him starting, instead.
IMO, I might try Workman, whose starting ERA is 50% higher than his career relief ERA, which is itself roughly double is 2019 relief ERA - but at least he averaged 5+ inning per start, with a sub-5 ERA in those starts!
But to what end given this season?!
