Powerful performance by Cole.

And the way the Cardinals have played the 1st inning, so far, they don't deserve to win the game.

Yeah, teams have come back from 1st inning disasters before, but between Wong at 2nd and the positionless right fielder's inability to decide to catch the ball (even if it was called a hit), the pitcher's night was blown and quite possibly the team's series.

Better than the Senators of the 1920s and 1930s?  I guess they're remembered better for the 40s and 50s years of mediocrity.  One of the first MLB games I ever watched was after they had just moved to Minnesota.

MOST in DC - when they won the Negro League World Series for the third time - in 1948

As you were.

12 Hall pf Famers......and yes, the team did start in PA, as the Nationals began in MTL.

I am sure you have heard, but...

Game 4 postponed - so now they will play 4 straight nights - beginning Thursday and with Game 7 still slated for Sunday

Will be interesting to see the maneuvering of respective pitching staffs for NY and HOU

IIRC they started playing some of their games in DC in the late '30 or early '40s, and considered  DC home away from home. But they were the "Homestead Grays" Not the Washington Grays.

its like calling the Boston Celtics the Hartford Celtics because they played some home games in Conn. in the 80s.

The Homestead Grays (also known as Washington Grays or Washington Homestead Grays) were a professional baseball team that played in the Negro leagues in the United States.

Cherry picking again kid.

You should have included the following.

The team was formed in 1912 by Cumberland Posey, and remained in continuous operation for 38 seasons. The team was originally based in Homestead, Pennsylvania, adjacent to Pittsburgh. By the 1920s, with increasing popularity in the Pittsburgh region, the team retained the name "Homestead" but crossed the Monongahela River to play all home games in Pittsburgh, at the Pittsburgh Pirates' home Forbes Field and the Pittsburgh Crawfords' home Greenlee Field.

From 1940 until 1942, the Grays played half of their home games in Washington, D.C., while remaining in Pittsburgh for all other home stands.[1] As attendance at their games in the nation's capital grew, by 1943, the Grays were playing more than two-thirds of their home games in Washington.

Why do you try to bullshit your superiors?

You're just going to be shown up as full of shit.

28 years in Homestead & Pittsburgh. 11 years based in DC.

Can't find an overall winning pct for the team, but given their frequency of winning their league I suspect it blows away the Nationals. So, I should have said MLB franchise.

Pretty much what I said

3 Negro League Series wins mostly played in Washington, where they are still the best team to have ever played/represented.
