Yankees might finally be in a position to DFA Gardner but might be waiting for the return of Elsbury to do so.

I guffawed.

Mets get Baez?

Cool.
Well, I guess they need a shortstop...

Gave up the next Jared Kelenic to get him.

Worth discussing - I assume tie break rules are same for playoffs -

Billy McKinney flied out to left
Cody Bellinger flied out to left
AJ Pollock flied out to right
On initial placement, Smith to second.
Matt Peacock pitching

This was Dodgers tenth inning

They lost it in the bottom

But funny thing is Arizona didnt move the runner over eithger

Asdrúbal Cabrera doubled to left, Daulton Varsho scored
56
Josh VanMeter lined out to shortstop
On initial placement, Varsho to second.
Jimmy Nelson pitching

I guess that is what analytics says is most times correct.  Interesting.

I still bunt the guy over if I am AZ there.  Maybe it is hitter-dependent?

Does anybody other than NL pitchers even practice bunting anymore?

Yes - hitters who are notoriously low average batters.

I doubt that

I wonder how we could find out.

But certainly, the loss of bunting as a major art form is not news.

Usually the only bunting you see in baseball anymore is this:

I remember bunting drills in Little-League. IIRC we had to get down two fair bunts, one towards 1st, one towards 3rd, basically away from the pitcher.

But despite my manager's urging my bat never caught the ball.

Guardianship over Guardians?

Rollerball Guardians filed for trademark application a few days after the Baseball Guardians filed theirs. (Tribe also filed 4/8/21 in Mauritius, a tiny island in the Indian Ocean)

Indian Ocean?

There's a joke floating there somewhere.

The roller derby team is claiming common law rights going back multiple years.

This should have been settled with say $24 in trinkets before the lawyers got dragged in.

It may get expensive for the roller-ballers to protect themselves from the Cleveland claim-jumpers.

As I think I said earlier, I do not understand DFA Workman and trading for Austin not-meadows.

Workman is a better pitcher.

Pickin' MACHINE!!!
