His teams have scored him SEVEN runs in his 6 World Series starts (while he was in the game)

Girardi to manage Phillies.

Always liked Girardi.

I was thinking of the '86 Sox as the Nats were pounding away tonight.

Verlander now 0-5 in WS starts.

Go figure.

6 starts...

Is hard to figure, except that he has faced strong pitching from the other side

2017 for instance - 12 innings, 5 hits 2 bb 14k and doesnt win?

23 year old rookie his first 2 outings in '06

I like Verlander, I'm not mocking him, its just a weird stat on an otherwise pristine 1st ballot HoF resume.

Who?

Yeah Phil’s went established guy route. I guess they don’t tell the manager who to play each day

Good to see Showalter name on some of these lists

Alas. Won’t manage Mets

NYM apparently have a mystery candidate (not Wright)

Could it be Ron Darling?

Taubman fired for his comments to one or more specific women.

Yeah - real tough not to like the guy

I'd say a PIVOTAL Game 5 or 6 start looms for Verlander when discussing his career.

Do the Astros go Cole Game 4?  Interesting call if the series is 2-1.  If they wait for 5 he may not be available at all for 7.  If they go Cole/Verlander 4 and 5, BOTH might be available for 7 (in some capacity)

Good game for/by the Astros and now they get to come back to their aces, if they want to. But... Verlander sure would make me nervous, the same way Price did until he didn't and Kershaw does.

Not the best start for Corbin. Will he bounce back? And can his team score more than 1 run tonight?!

Numbers don't explain everything that goes on between the lines.

Is this actually news to you?!

Game 5 seems inconsequential to me - HOU wins either way

I actually hope Washington wins tonight.  Terrible, historic home fold if they do not
