Adios Mook

he was one of the best and most entertaining players the sox have ever had

tough nite

As posted elsewhere

So if i understand this correctly, the take away is we helped improve the Twins chances of beating the Yankees in the ALDS with some more starting pitching, (yeah right) and then the LAD's chances of beating the Ys in the Series

Very touching tribute, Bank

Verdugo's a player.  Sort of what you have always hoped Tendi is.

The pitcher is a fat guy that will never stay healthy.

Red Sox won;t be relevant again for ten years.

I'll take that bet.

Define relevant, though, because I can imagine your discounting playoff appearances as irrelevant unless they make it to the Series or at least the ALCS.

Great writer. The other (and imho, better) Roger, Angell, is alive and kicking at about 100 and living in Maine

WBW I used to read The New Yorker for Angell on baseball and Kael on films.

Sadly I don't read anymore.

kid's right on top of the news.

heh

Grats was out by Thursday.

Sox get a Verdugo, Downs, and Wong from Dodgers to complete Betts/Price trade.

Sox get 2 potential starters and regain financial flexibility

Excellent deal.  Heh

We still take 10 years to recover.

But at least Joey is gone and we finally have a Jeter.
