Statement win today:

What makes it a statement win?

And does it connect to your question in some specific way or is that a separate notion tossed in for other reasons?

Should have linked you to Ken Rosenthal and his tweet about Trevor Rosenthal  going to the Pads.

Seems like a more appropriate link, yes!

With Monday’s trade deadline approaching, the Red Sox dealt yet another on- and off-field anchor of their recent teams, this time trading first baseman Mitch Moreland to the Padres in exchange for infielder Hudson Potts and outfielder Jeisson Rosario.

I'll miss him, for all that I will enjoy seeing Chavis more than we did.

Are they any good, Banks?

I really don't know. My 2nd hand sources have them as decent prospects, part of rebuilding the farm type guys, (from the Dombrowski harvesting) maybe fodder for future trades.

which part of the post made you "heh" kid?

https://www.bostonglobe.com/2020/08/30/sports/red-sox-trade-mitch-moreland-padres/

this has some info on the two prospects-although its not as funny as my post

heh

In Potts and Rosario, the team believes it accomplished that, acquiring players who one N.L. evaluator described as “two real prospects.”

Goodbye, Kevin Pillar. It was a pleasure and a privilege to watch you play at Fenway this short season. You are a big reason that I wish we'd had more games.
