Mets Owners OWNS Twitter twit:

Mets owner Steve Cohen didn’t stop at his Twitter statement announcing the firing of GM Jared Porter for reportedly sending a stream of inappropriate texts to a female reporter in 2016.

Cohen elaborated on the social media platform Tuesday when one user asked him: “Caving to cancel culture is abhorrent, now that [Porter’s] life has been ruined, what is his path to redemption Mr. Cohen?”

“I have no idea. I have an organization of 400 employees that matter more than any one individual,” Cohen replied. “No action would [have] set a poor example to the culture I’m trying to build.”

a nice alternative for NYM

144 hits in 163 innings in 2019 for the 2016 4th round pick

I am sure he will not be inserted right away, will have to battle to be in the rotation.  But happy with this, surely.

So, kid, I see you're back to being a Mets fan, having now abandoned the Red Sox.

Kinda sad that you're such a frontrunner.

Well, son...

Kind of immature for a guy my age to live and die with the wins and losses of any group of millionaires.

Sort of like when you get to the point in life when you stop wearing player jerseys.

Fan of the sport.  Follow the Mets.  And yes, still an eye on the Sox, who have lost their way

Also following the college game more closely this year if anyone cares.

Turns out Tanaka wants 15+ mil for one year.  Yanks not going 15 rather than give Kluber 11 says a lot about the current lot of NYY finances

Kidcarters all growed up. He no longer wears his Doc Gooden or Clyde jerseys, but just identifies with his favorite player by using his name-nick-name as his web handle.

TFF

I was never a fan of wearing a players jersey or uni. It always cracked me up seeing some 5'8" white guy wearing a Patrick Ewing jersey.

Though to be fair, they really weren't prevalent when I was a young kid. IIRC they came into being in the mid-70s. I might have worn a #9, or maybe consider sporting #8. or a Celtics 6, 17, 18. or  Bruins 4 or 9, maybe a Pats 20 or 35.

I did wear my T-shirts and hats with team colors and logo, Still do.

So, banks, did you play a lot of pool when you were a young man?

I used to shoot some stick.

I was decent.

Chalk one up for you!

I played well, when I was young. Now, I can't see!

But I remember making tuition payment with money I'd win in bars, playing in 5 and 10 or 20 dollar games. Not a lot of money now. But at that time minimum wage was about $2.65 an hour.

I learned the game on a 7 ft table and mostly played on 8 ft. tables I was pretty good but generally only played against people I knew and small stakes. I was my dorm champ (about 1000 kids) but I shouldn't have been-the best guy was away for the week-end. I played a fair amount of 9-ball and straight.  A good run for me was 8-10 balls.

Poker was my "tuition game" played for pots of a few hundred + when the minimum wage was around $1.60.

Early 70s we used to play ping-pong, table top hockey, foos-ball, skittle bowl, chess almost anything for money.

The baseball card collection of the 1960's and 70's has been decimated in the last year.
