Kid, all the rules are based on tradition. Why not ditch any that make the game take longer?

Shortening a long DAY, not just a game.

And focused on player health/overall wellness.

There needs to be a law against them showing a Limu Emu commercial after suffering through a Stanton AB. How much torture can people take?

I like seven inning rule.  Other than being a traditionalist, not sure why one would argue.

Why 7? Why not 6 or 8 or 5?

Why not allow a scheduled 7 inning game to be a no-hitter?

Why not change all the games to be 7 innings?

Why shorten it to 7 innings instead of making double headers take 2 strikes for an out and 3 balls for a walk?

Hey, make extra innings have fewer fielders! That will increase the runs, just like running 3 skaters in OT.

Kid, all the rules are based on tradition. Why not ditch any that make the game take longer?

You, sir - are a fucking moron.

Your carefully reasoned response is noted, Kid.

You have no answers, just an insult.

But what else is new?!

Kid, all the rules are based on tradition. Why not ditch any that make the game take longer on days with double headers?! (Did I really need to specify that?!)

Your erudite dismissal of why not 6 or 8 instead of 7 doesn't make the question moronic. Ditto the changes in what constitutes a strikeout or a walk - the suggestion of changing from 3 to 2 and 4 to 3 to shorten games is hardly original to me. Every count starts 1-1. Why not do that for double headers? Or reduce the number of outs to 2 per inning? As a trial, anyway.

I'm not recommending any of those. I am suggesting that they are just as legitimate as the 7 inning change in "solving" the problems they are trying to solve.

Consecutive hits for the Yankees. The ball should go to Cooperstown.

Sox tried to let them back in, but the Yankees refused.

Nice follow-up sweep of the Yankees.

And the Angels managed to avoid the sweep by the Rays.

Shocking how bad the Yankees are. They went into the season so confident. How could they not be with all the great lefty bats in their line-up and the consistent greatness of Judge, Stanton and Stanton and Sanchez?

Any indication the new MLB enforcement on sticky stuff affected G Cole today?  Just curious.

Big news/controversy in baseball of course is the NC State team being bounced from CWS due to COVID testing.  Vandy gets the walkover and will face Mississippi State.
