That was almost an amazing catch by the Brewers' 3rd baseman from the catcher!
That they are calling the batter out is beyond me.
What happened?
Pop foul near the stands.
Catcher almost catches it, but it bounces out of his glove toward the field.
Third baseman
dives and appears to have caught the ball before it hit the ground.
Batter called out.
His manager objects. The umps talk together and then put headsets on.
The replays clearly show the ball hit the ground.
The call stands because it is not a reviewable play, even though the truth is visible to all concerned.
The good news is that it seems to have no impact on the outcome of the game. The player called out was for the team that won.
But... how can that not be reversed or reviewed?!
