Dmoltz knows what he's talking about.

Maybe, but I just heard him talking about how in the NL, it will be starters going long the day after the Dodgers ran two relievers out for the 1st and 2nd inning of their finale with the Giants.

You missed WHY Dave Roberts did this

Lets just say this - Flores facing Scherzer - a horrible Giants matchup - was the result.

I do think the NL starters go longer- takes no genius to think so

I didn't miss why Roberts did it.

My point is that the NL is not doing what Smoltz said they are.

And in 2021, the top 3 teams in IP/GS are AL teams. Yes, 10 NL teams were above the league average, but only 8 AL teams, but that's a pretty miniscule difference.

If you want to figure out the average, be my guest. I think you'll discover that the gap is negligible.

Houck was not brilliant tonight.

Tie game.

Whitlock only when winning or tied, I suppose.

edit:  even then - not used for bottom 7 in 3-3 game

pretty good game

I winced as soon as Robles was put in. I winced more with Sawamura. There is a reason he was left off the ALDS roster.

And... Santana instead of Renfroe?! Shaw instead of Vasquez in that scenario? Ah, well.

Cora pushes far more right buttons than wrong ones.

It was a good game.

I'm sure you know more than Smoltz about baseball. Didn't you write your thesis for your Masters on the difference between a starter and an opener and their value within each league?
