Better bring in Bob Stanley. Or maybe Calvin Schiraldi.

'Stros get more runs, Sox are done.

If the Red Sox come back, I will be very surprised and pleased.

But the Astros have done what they needed to do, as far as I can tell, and deserve to win this series.

WUNY.

Scherzer is not starting tomorrow's game because of tired arm.

Guess you can blame Cora for blowing this series, eh?

I made my comment already, Ham.

If you want to pretend to mind-reading powers like Kid has, nobody can stop you. You're like Ward and "Trump is a Christian."

Sox blew this series.

They had it, and blew it.

Tough winter ahead.

Great TWEET: https://twitter.com/ESPNStatsInfo/status/1451769988239568896?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet

One player outhits an entire opposing team for 2 playoffs games. Never happened before.

That strike-em-out-throw-em-out was a serious display of ineptitude, if Cora sent him.

I think that when you live by the homer, you die by not homering, which is essentially what happened to Boston.

Or...it could be more than a coincidence that after Dusty Baker switched his team's signs that the Bosox no longer could tee off on what they knew was coming. If you go from hitting grand salamis to looking like you're standing there and holding a salami, something drastic must have happened, especially in such a short time frame.

And speaking of Dusty, here he is discussing "love". Note how happy A-Rod is! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGxEsmzA1Zc

I will say this about the Astros. IF the NL team wants to beat them, they are going to have to pitch inside, or up and in, and knock those Astros hitters off the plate. They looked waaaayyy too comfortable at the plate against the Sox.

And they can hit, and they can run...They play an old-school NL type game.

Which is why they're going to the WS, and the Boston launch-anglers are going home to figure out a better way to steal signs.

and the troll just keeps on trolling

SSDD

Alvarez was a force in that series

it was if all of Kike's mojo and hits and scorching at-bats in the first three games were voodooed in Alvarez's bat the last 3 games

it was weird, a team that was one of the best hitting teams in baseball went ice cold.

and the other, probably the best hitting team in baseball finally got steamy hot.

the best team won

but the Sox, for all their flaws, and they were discussed here, played hard, delivered far more than expected, and gave their fans a fun WC race to follow and enjoy for the last 60 days of the season. They got into the post-season on the last day, and then beat our ancient rival and then a newer one, and got within 2 games of getting into a WS.

I'd say most baseball fans would sign up for that.

Even if it meant reading the tear-stained posts of a sad and envious troll.

LMAO

Thanks Sox for a fun seson and congrats to Astro fans both old and those born just a week or so ago.

I'm actually almost certain that Baker's changing their signs changed how the games went.

Not because of cheating, but because it gave their pitchers confidence that there was no cheating now going on and artificial confidence just plain works.

See also: lucky underwear, etc.

They believed the Sox would be less able to hit them and so pitched with greater internal faith.

Might have helped the hitters to feel less futile, too. Don't know.

I've no idea what turns a hot team cold or vice versa.  Pitcher's that were hittable one day make small adjustments and become the second coming of a dominating Sandy Koufax or Bob Gibson. Sox couldn't touch Garcia yesterday.
