Congratulations to David Ortiz on his day of enshrinement in baseball's Hall of Fame.

An honor well deserved for the outsized slugger and personality who was magnificent when the stakes were highest.

The man was a lot of fun to watch.

Not every PED user gets in to the HOF. But some do. Piazza, Ortiz...

All you have to do is kiss the media's ass, which they both did.

Fuck the Hall.

Ortiz convicted in the Court of Ham.

Nowhere else.

Today I was informed by a reporter that I was on the 2003 list of MLB players to test positive for performance enhancing substances. This happened right before our game, and the news blindsided me.

I want to talk about this situation and I will as soon as I have more answers. In the meantime I want to let you know how I am approaching this situation. One, I have already contacted the Players Association to confirm if this report is true. I have just been told that the report is true. Based on the way I have lived my life, I am surprised to learn I tested positive.

Two, I will find out what I tested positive for. And, three, based on whatever I learn, I will share this information with my club and the public. You know me  I will not hide and I will not make excuses.

Good enough for me then, good enough for me now.

Heh

You want to relitigate this, 19 years after the alleged event?

The Times said his name was on a list they were given.

They didn't do the test.

MLB had the test done.

They said it was not conclusive that Ortiz was one who used as the list included 10 false positives and they don't know who they were.

Guilty only in the Court of Ham.

Phils get the Pittsburgh sweep, and are catching up with San Diego. Just keep winning series. In Atlanta for 2, then home for 4 v the Nats.

And will there be any changes on the squad before tomorrow's trade deadline? With Edmundo Sosa now on the squad, and Jean Seguro coming back, and Stott playing good D, the pressure is on DD Gregorius to perform. He's stepped up his defense the last few days, and his base-running and hitting. Funny how a little scare about losing his spot in the line-up can make a player better. Castellanos starting to hit with men on base. Hoskins heating up again, JT hitting, and the Bohminator went 4-for-5 Sunday, finishing the month of July with a .434 batting average, and bringing his season average to .299.

The pen is doing their job (except for Familia), and the starters are going deep enough to spell them.

The team has gelled, even without Harper, and that's a good thing, because Harper will come back down the stretch, possibly before the end of this critical month.

For August, they play 21 games against sub-.500 teams. and 14 of those are at home. This is their month to make it happen, and they are trending in the right direction.
