That's too bad for us, especially coming on the heels of Remy's death. It explains even more about the merry-go-round we've had in the booth, as they try to find an ex-player with as much appeal as Eck has had.

I suspect, from what I have heard, that we are going to be out of luck in that regard.

Wonder how long Hosmer will be out.

And why is Plawecki catching? I get that he could be an occasional back-up, but this is his 4th start since we got McGuire, who hits better and catches at least as well. And he's been throwing out about a third of the runners trying to steal, while Plawecki gets 10%.

Meanwhile, JBJ has signed with the Blue Jays.

Baltimore is now a half game out of the WC chase and only 2 behind TB for first place in the WC.

Only 13 behind the Yankees...who won for a change, but about whom nobody is suggesting a best ever season.
