the only thing i can hang on Joe G. is that as a former catcher he never taught Sanchez how to catch.

Thanks, Josh. They couldn't have done it without me. Baseball is a weird sport.

I understand.

Mets may be waiting on Girardi.

I think there is a way back for him with Yanks if he chooses - we'll see.  He has always said its is a team (family) decision.

Right now for Mets its Kevin Long or Manny Acta, with late interviewees a possibility

Where does Ausmus wind up?  Strange to not see him in Boston, though I am very open minded on Cora.

World Series?  Very tough call.  Likely I just stay with the AL.

I really don't get the Girardi is gone speculation. I understand he's a FA, and is no longer a new and shiny toy, but IMO he's done a reaasonably good job, there's no reason why he won't continue to be a good manager in the future, don't see or know of any new managerial genius on the horizon that the Steinys crave, and can't imagine that Joe doesn't want a few more years to manage what seems to be a very good team with some compelling players.

And as far as I know there is no other managerial dream jobs that he suppsedly craves (aka da Cubs) .

So it probably comes down to money.

And i can't see that as an issue.

or he joins Arod on Fox as a talking head for a year.

Actually i think he would be good at that. He's smart and articulate.

As an aside Cora/Boston is probably a done deal, but the Nats want to talk.

that could get interesting as some additional leverage just entered the room.

32 teams and only one league. Portland and Montreal. A shorter season. Yanks and Mets in same division. What happens to the DH?

And it looks like the NHL once playoffs begin:
