Preseason picks are cool, if you want to go back (we all had WAS, CHI, LA - I am sure)

But picks this coming Monday - after we have the teams all set - would be a nice contest (number of games per series as a bonus)

I will post mine if I remember

(FTR, I believe I had a HOU repeat - over Cubs - but could have been over Nats)

- Still mulling a +240 Cubs bet for the NL title.  Worried about their bullpen.  Staying way away in the AL. thoug best looking $$ would be CLE

I had a Cubs-Indians WS, with Cubs winning.

If my math is correct, if Boston wins out and Baltimore loses out, Baltimore will set a Modern Era record by finishing 66 games back, beating the 1909 Boston Doves by half a game, and the AL record 1939 St. Louis Browns 64.5 by 1.5 games. The playoff era record - Detroit 2003, a measly 47 GB? Shattered.

The all time record, set by the egregious Cleveland Spiders in 1899 - 84 GB - is out of reach.  Better luck next year, Orioles!

Almost makes me want to root for the Red Sox for the rest of the year.
Well piss on that. Thanks a lot, Red Sox.

Not the most scintillating game ever, for all that it is lovely to hear Toddler Cello do the game.

Also not scintillating, though I enjoyed it more!

The pitching roster should be entertaining for the playoffs.

There is a poll here:

I don't know why it appeared there instead of where a poll normally appears.

I loved that after 162 games and 7 innings, the Cubs and Brewers were still tied.

It only lasted 3.5 innings for the Dodgers and Rockies (so far).

It appears that the Yankees still haven't announced their starter.  No matter who it is, though, I think they're going to lose.

Quite the game tonight! (or this morning, where I am, but they're in Chicago)

While I'm picking Oakland tonight, I think the Yankees are getting a huge break with the A's decision to start Denny Galehouse. I know it 's a "bullpen start" thing but in post-season games such shenanigans can be too cute by a half.

Ah, screw it.  I'm changing my pick to the Yankees.

It's Hendricks' start (should be interesting to see if they let him go a second inning if the first goes well)

But CAHILL's game, in all likelihood.

Hendricks - 1
Petit - 1
Cahill - 5
Treinen - 2

Ideally for A's

(disclaimer - just a guess - off Cahill stats and his 4 IP three days ago)

Trivino wasnt good last time out.
