But Seattle sure was having trouble holding onto the ball!

This is the closest the Red Sox have been to first place since April 5th and the closest to a wild card spot since March 31st.

Lots of people think that competition still creates valuable and the best form of entertainment. Guess you aren't one of them.

I think the problem here is that you are shifting the definition of "best" to whatever suits your argument at the moment. Normally, you mean the one that fields the strongest teams (more than one) - that could be expected to have the best record vs. other divisions.

But since that doesn't fit the NL East, you are choosing instead that competitiveness within the division is what you mean by "best." Good luck selling that definition outside of your own head.

You fail to recognize that 4 teams in that Division are projected to win 85 or more games. There is no other division rated as such. Therefore, it's the best.

That you can't handle that situation indicates your own weakmindedness, Professor Dimwit.

That vaunted National East "best division" is proving to be neither internally competitive nor strong versus other divisions.

I'm terribly surprised.

Of course, it is still early, but it would require more than one team to change its direction for them to come close to living up to Hamilton Utley's predictions.
