We've seen it before - the most prodigious home run hitter in the early rounds falls in the final round. I had the right pair, but the wrong outcome. 5 feet off for the longest homer. Without the tie breakers in the semi-finals, my total was almost exact. I did not anticipate that they'd finish tied.

And Josh Bell?! What happened? My other failed match prediction.

Wait until next year!!

Season over, yet?

Struggling with the meaning of "is," are you? 2nd coming of Bill Clinton, huh?
Do you think it's going to change or are you just grasping at straws?

You should be more concerned with the lice in your beard, twit.

"Oh, dear! Josh accurately pointed out that what I said is full of crap. I guess I need to insult him."

You are so transparent, Piggy.

And, as with our last dispute, you do not have the courage of your convictions when given the chance to stick up for them.

The N.L. East is not the "best" division in MLB and you know it. Playing the rest of the schedule isn't going to change that, and you know that, too.

So, go back to making up shit about people. You know how to do that far better than you know how to defend your positions after you've expressed an opinion. (You're still far better than Ward at that. And Kiiid never really tries.)

I think the verdict is in -

use the new (juiced) ball for HR derby and go back to the other for game play.

Cool that Alonso made almost double his salary for one night's work (and for a guy like Guererro, it hurts a bit, though he will get his in time).

Pete giving to charity when he doesnt have much yet is a real nice touch.  A Met we can actually admire.  A unicorn more than a polar bear.

MLBPA: Baseball doing poor job promoting Betts

https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/27159004/baseball-doing-poor-job-promoting-betts

MLBPA doing their job, promoting Betts. LOL

But I have to agree that MLB should always hype their stars as much as possible.

He should concentrate on performing better.this year. That would help.

And I don't just say that as his fantasy owner. No, wait. I only say that as his fantasy owner. That's what I meant.

the way its going MLB will find its platform to promote its product and stars will grow smaller as its core baby-boomer fans age and die off.

kids don't have the time or inclination or attention span to continually watch a 3 1/2 hr game

Promotion is great, but IMO MLB has to find a way to get more baseball into the game.

HRs and Ks are great within reason, but guys going 1st to 3rd and maybe getting gunned out by the RFer with a cannon is better.

A DP has more than 2X the entertainment value of 2 ks.

I might get rid of the shift, (or limit its use) and it would probably lead to more hits, more runs more possibility for action.

put more baseball back into the game.

State of the game is that it can be more competitive, and the economics needs a fix:

I remember a Star Trek Deep Space Nine episode where it was revealed that baseball was a dead sport on earth and nobody played it anymore. And moreover most people didn't even remember it.

Hey, the Sox played a pretty decent game against the Dodgers.

Some timely hitting. Good pitching.
