Two NY teams winning and scoring eleven runs, a rarity.

Sox makin their run.................

For moderately broad definitions of "run."

But hey, they didn't get no-hit, right?!

The Red Sox are on the "Hit every other day" plan, evidently.

21-12 run.  Have to believe we will outlast A's and Rays.

Glass half full, huh?

That's a 6-0 run, then 9-7 up to the All Star break, then 6-5 since the break.

Yeah, the Rays seem to be in bigger trouble than that, of late...

But the A's are 7-3 since the Break and were 9-3 leading up to it, so I am not sure why you think they'll fade.

Well.... you are lookig at game results, not personnel.

If Cora is any good at all he gets it done.

True - Athletics always tough and on a 24-10 run - but 2-3 in last 5 vs real teams

Today thru August 25 looks like tough sledding for OAK

So if the Red Sox don't pass Oakland and the Rays, Cora isn't "any good at all"? Wow.

I know the GM is in on it as well but really -

a)  pick a fucking closer

b)  do something to ignite Porcello, who is too damn comfortable as an "I will get the ball every 5th day" piece.

c)  Play with the lineup a little

d)  Insist we see more minor leaguers before September

Okay.  So I assume you think they won last year despite him.

Nope.  It takes every guy on the roster and coaching staff.  They got it done - cant take that away - ever.

They've used 88 batting orders in 101 games, Kiiid. No line up has been used more than 5 times. How much more would you like him to play with it. (None of those involved pitchers.)  Yeah, it's about average, but... you want Sam Travis or Sandy Leon leading off?!

Chavis, Travis, Taylor, Shawaryn, Poyner, Weber, Darwinzon Hernandez, Trevor Kelly, Lakins, Josh Smith, Erasmo Ramírez

How many more minor leaguers would you like to see?

The Red Sox have had 25 pitchers so far this year (plus Nunez).

Then what constitutes "any good?"

So if it they don't get it done this year, it's just Cora (and maybe the GM) not being good enough, not everybody on the roster and coaching staff.  Managing is a tough gig, I guess.
