Not too much interest in the 'Sweet Science' nowadays. Perhaps this may be of interest:

I'm watched a Floyd Whittaker fight on tape against De La Hoya.  He's pretty good.  Aside from that... haven't been paying attention.  Does anyone here follow Ultimate Fighting?

You know when, like, you're little, your dad, you think he's Superman. Then when you grow up and realize he's just a regular guy who wears a cape.

Mayweather too skilled for Hatton.
Wicked hook dropped the bloody Brit.
But Mayweather should have been well ahead on point by then anyway.

Pacman-Marquez II was pretty damned exciting.
Both ended up with nasty gashes above the eye, mostly the result of accidental butts.  Pac is such a tough fighter, making his living beating up Mexican heroes.
I thought Marquez won, but I was pretty groggy while viewing.
Both fighters at the top of their game, some vicious counter-punching, etc.
Will be replayed on HBO next Sat. on the Casamayor program.
Definitely worth catching.

Here is a link for their boxing team, my friend Al's sons Neeco "The Rooster" Macias, and Chazz Macias, both box, and Al is their coach.

Cool.

My father had a friend who had invested in Joe & Arturo Gatti early on, and so my folks went to a couple of their fights in Atlantic City.

Arturo of course went on to have a trilogy of insane fights with Mickey Ward, then died young (37) somehow in Brasil.

Joe Gatti got a title fight he wasn't ready for and his career sputtered after a 1st round loss to champ Terry Norris.

Boxing is a tough way to make a living . . .
