In bambuland, there is South Australia state, of which Adelaide is the capital.
Several years ago, went there for the footy and to visit the graves of the immigrant ancestors of the 1800s.

Recently in Adelaide ['the city of churches']:

Adelaide's recently installed mobile phone detection cameras have captured a staggering 2,544 drivers using their phones behind the wheel in just their first week of operation, leading to $1.67 million in fines.

Three repeat offenders have already been caught so many times that they've been stripped of their licences.

#####

Which according to my calculator is $656.00 per fine.

To stop rich drivers who have unlimited money to pay the fines from acting badly...there is a points system...a certain number of points lost for each infringement.
Lose more than 13 points in a 3 year period, and you lose your licence.
5 demerit points 'lost' for illegal mobile phone use. First offence only 8 points left for 3 years.
10 points lost for illegal mobile phone use in "double demerit" areas/times [long weekends/holidays/school zones etc]...then only 3 points left.

They will, and do, cancel your licence.
Think they send you a nice letter in the mail, "your driving licence has been cancelled".

There are "point to point" cameras on NSW motorways, for trucks.
Camera captures truck at point A...and again at point B.  Best truck doesn't get to point B earlier than it should...camera gets very annoyed and spits out a fine and loss of points.
They're currently testing it for cars.

Recently in NSW seat belt cameras were introduced...non-wearing of seat belts detected...same deal, fine and loss of points.

Wanna lower your road toll?
Install cameras everywhere

Bambu, you could be a Consultant for people who are interested in doing business in Australia, etc.

Salute,

Tony V.

Tony,
Govt and the Business Council have plenty of effective agencies/people doing that work already.
However, businesses large and small are going broke every day here. Construction companies large and small included.
Small businesses that have been operating for 40 years have folded.
Major womens clothing stores have closed, women 'only' wear gym wear 'everywhere'.
The 'only' women wearing dresses deem to be senior citizens, and most of them seem to be wearing what they already have...or are shopping at charity stores. Younger women wearing jeans.
Mrs bambu used to shop at the stores that closed, but she hasn't done so for about 6 years.

Small population, post Covid the People have shut their wallets, having learnt valuable lessons about 'money' from he horrors of Covid, unemployment.
The 12 mortgage interest rate rises in the first year of the Albo govt certainly killed off 'discretionary spending' on non-essential items. Many people are battling to buy food, so they're only buying what they really need.
Plenty of alcohol still being bought, maybe people are drowning their sorrows.

Many small business owners have revealed they are putting their savings into their businesses to keep them afloat.
Sky News today:
"Company insolvencies at all time high".

Govt said "we need skilled migrants", so they imported a large number.
What are the skilled migrants doing now?
Most of them are "delivering pizzas"   reportedly.

'All' manufacturing jobs have been exported. 'Everything' I look at is "made in China", "made in Thailand", "made in Vietnam".
Many so called 'tech jobs' have been exported to India, Philippines etc.

Many people buying new cars are adding them onto their home mortgages.

There's gonna be big trouble here [as against little trouble, not much wrong]...when all the small business owners run out of savings to prop up their failing businesses.....and all the leaves on the govt's welfare money tree die.

I just asked the ever-wise mrs bambu if she thought it would, in our lifetime, get to a stage where the federal govt couldn't pay us our pension.
She answered "no", "they'll just print more money like America does".

Think I'll still develop a survival plan, just in case.
After 9/11, Covid, Oct 7, the horror hurricanes in America, earthquakes everywhere, massive forest fires like only a few years ago, who knows the future.
Best to have a workable plan.

Bambu, it will get better. Australia is one of the top Tourist Destinations in the world, just like here in Anaheim. Also, Entertainment and Social Media are creating a lot of the new stars, many of whom are from Australia. And people will always need to eat, so Australian Beef will always make money.

The Cities all depend on the Farmers for food, and then the Restaurants in the Cities and the Grocery Stores in the Cities all make money.

Of note, many people are living on the 401k investments, but if the Stock Market ever crashes then all of those people are going to be in poverty, all of the people who are making money from the Stock Market will go into poverty if the Stock Market crashes.

Restaurants and Farms and Grocery Stores are all important to feed the Cities.

And Battle Mountain, Nevada, has Gold Mines, Battle Mountain will survive. Battle Mountain has the best deal on land in the USA and Battle Mountain has great schools for the children, etc.

Route 66 is a good area for new immigrants in the USA, and the Basques can run herds of sheep, cattle, and goats, to reduce fire danger, etc.

New Orleans is a good spot for the refugees from Colombia, and trade can be expanded, and Shakira and Sofia Vergara can own restaurants in New Orleans, etc.

The best way to make sure that society helps the homeless is to contribute to making sure that the homeless are helped, and then when there comes a time when you need help yourself then society will help you. If we support Mental Health Associations like the one in Santa Ana, and Wellness Centers like the one in Orange, then if we need help ourselves then we just go get help, help is available. And the Catholic Church helps the poor, etc. And Youth for Christ helps the poor, etc.

The economy will improve in the USA because we have good Unions now, and the workers are getting better pay now, workers have won improved pay.

Also, some companies such as the San Miguel Corporation from the Philippines are altruistic and help the people.

It will get better Bambu.

Salute,

Tony V.

Many of the department stores here are gone now, I worked at the Broadway Department Store in Pasadena, California, and it was a wonderful store, and they went out of business a long time ago.

Now Latin America is joining in opening new stores in the USA, and Mexican companies are investing in department stores in America, etc. While the USA is in decline in many ways, then Latin America is on the rise, and as Latin America rises then they can help the United States, we need to be united and we need to work together as a team from the top of Alaska to the bottom of Chile.

Meanwhile, America needs to focus on education for our people, and job training, and we need to help the homeless, etc. Many new jobs are being created for Social Workers, etc, as well as for Doctors, Psychiatrists, Nurses, Pharmacists, etc, and for Crisis Intervention Specialists, and for Housing Specialists, etc.

It will get better, new stores will replace the ones that are gone now, and new companies will form, etc.

Salute,

Tony V.

I have been telling the Mayors that the Cities need to learn Crowd Control from the Theme Parks, and from Sporting Events, and from working crowd control at Concerts, etc. When I worked Show Control at Universal Studios then we had 25,000 guests per day, so in 4 days a person could work with 100,000 people. In Battle Mountain the whole town only has 5,000 people, and Universal has 25,000 guests per day to put it in perspective. The people who protect our Cities need to train and become experienced doing Crowd Control, and then when riots happen then they will know how to peacefully and purposefully handle the crowds. We must not sit back while protestors destroy our local family owned Grocery Store, etc, we need to have active Crowd Control Workers to control the crowds during a riot situation. And we can train Crisis Intervention Specialists, etc. Our people can learn a lot from the Theme Parks, etc, on the issue of Crowd Control, etc. And also the Mayors can learn from the way the Universal City Walk protects the City Walk with cameras and with cops, etc.

West Hollywood also needs giant parking lots with charging units, etc. And Universal needs to install charging units at their parking lots, etc.

I have been praying for the people of Florida. I love Florida. When the Space Shuttle Program went from the Antelope Valley to Cape Canaveral then I had a step-dad who was the Boss of the Space Shuttle Program so we went to Florida with the Shuttle and we lived on the beach in Cape Canaveral in the Wind Jammer Condominiums right on the sand, it was awesome. The women love you when you are the son of the Boss. It was a great year, I was just a kid still, and my father had just died, and I had a new step-dad, etc. I have always loved the Beach, Florida is great. And Cocoa Beach is awesome, it would be a good place to live.

Meanwhile, for the victims of the storms, they can come work at Disneyland in Anaheim, and they can work at Universal Studios, and at Knott's Berry Farm, and at Venice Beach, and at Hollywood Blvd, etc. And we have great schools, with USC, Chapman film school, Pepperdine in Malibu, and with many other great schools. Also, we have Vineyards for people who have always wanted to work on a Vineyard, etc, and the Antelope Valley has a Winery, and all over California they make wine. The film and television industry can also grow in California again as Newsom lowers taxes for producers.

Also, New Orleans is a good spot for the storm victims to go to in order to recuperate.

The houses in Anaheim cost one million dollars on average, but then you get the perfect weather and beautiful women and good people and a good economy and I see stars at the grocery store, etc. And we have good Churches, etc. And the beach is close, Huntington Beach is only 15 miles away, and Laguna, and Newport, are also close by. Malibu is about 45 miles North of here. Hollywood is about 30 miles away from me. Mexico is 100 miles away from here.

Richard Branson needs to have some nice ships to sail from Marina Del Rey here in California to Acapulco, Mexico, and they can party and have fun, maybe they can gamble on the ships as they drink margaritas and 7&7s and San Miguel Beer. They can eat the best food, with great entertainment, etc.

I am excited as the Biden economy brings the Good Times upon us, I am ready to enjoy some good times. I support Kamala, and I hope she will help to bring jobs and good fortune to California, and also to Nevada, etc.

For the refugees from the Middle East there is Canada, and Victoria, British Columbia, where Kiwanis International has a Village to help the refugee children and their families. And they can work in the forest and they can send lumber to the storm victims to rebuild, etc, they can rebuild using Canadian Lumber, etc.

Peace. And I hope they are having fun at the Russian Tea Room in New York tonight, it just seems like such a nice place to discuss how to make the peace happen in the world.

And for the fire dangers, remember to have the Basques bring in the sheep, cattle, and goats, to reduce the fire danger by eating the vegetation.

Also, we need to build more schools, and fewer prisons.

Salute,

Tony V.

Alexander Downer, former Foreign Minister of bambuland, just said on Sky News:

"The future of Western Civilisation depends on Israel's surviving the attacks on it by Iran and its proxies Hamas, Hezbollah etc."

#####

Exactly.
That's how serious the war is...Israel must win.
Anything else will be Holocaust 11....and Western civilisation destroyed.

Think I'll still develop a survival plan

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

Stop. You are making my sides hurt.

Gotta have a survival plan for everything...to have any hope.

Millions without power in Florida. Millions, not just a few. What on earth are they going to do.
Bad things happen to good people.

Same as what happened in Texas in that snow blizzard storm several years ago, no power.
Folk were chopping up their furniture to use for firewood to keep warm, cook etc.

In my world, about 2 weeks ago the powers that be issued a tsunami warning for my east coast [that's me].
Warning stated "earthquake off the south island of NZ, tsunami expected" or the like.
Someone pushed the wrong button, it was supposed to be a test warning only.
Thing is, I knew nothing about it. No SMS to my phone, nothing on the radio, TV etc.
They quickly cancelled it.
So much for their great 'warning system'.

I already have electricity blackouts as the no-ideas get coal-fired power stations closed.
Electricity blackout, no tv, no cooking, no hot water, no lights...no hope of a comfortable life.
Praying for the victims in Florida.

Now:
3 million households in Florida without power.
First hurricane Helene, now this Milton one wirh supercharged tornadoes.
Total horror.
