Drug etc cartels armed with automatic weapons and money seem to be controlling LA, CA and USA...if US tv shows, newspapers and movies are anything to go by.
I was a teen in the 1980s when Pablo Escobar and the Colombians were running cocaine, along with the Peruvians and Bolivians. It was a crazy time, we had discos like in "Saturday Night Fever" in Lancaster the club was "The Smoke Eye" and people danced and partied and everyone was doing cocaine. Then, to make it crazier, the cocaine was a crime and you could go to prison for having cocaine or for selling cocaine, so they would kill the snitches, but they were paranoid and on cocaine and they were out of their minds, they were scary people. Crazy people on cocaine with guns, etc, and money, it was a scary time. It is a miracle that I survived. And then the clubs in Hollywood that are owned by the Italian mafia, luckily those guys always liked me, but the 1980s were scary when the cocaine was at its peak.
Now the movies and television shows are all made in Canada, and they are out of touch with Hollywood and with California. Newsom is giving $750 Million in incentives to bring the film and television industry back to Hollywood so the movies and television shows will get better and they will represent us better because we will be making our own shows again.
In Hollywood, and in New York, the Jews and the Italians are at the top, and in Las Vegas too. In San Francisco it is the Chinese, and the Italians, and the Russians, etc. New York also has Russians, etc.
The residents at Empire West will be busy as the new film and television jobs are created, and hopefully we can bring film and television jobs to Anaheim, and to Malibu, and to Lancaster, etc. Latigo Beach in Malibu is a nice spot for artists to live as well.
The people from the Philippines are also helping the poor in California, etc, the cousin of Gloria Arroyo was here helping the homeless all of her life, etc. I invited the San Miguel Corporation from the Philippines to come do Business here in Hollywood, and in San Francisco, and in Oakland, and in San Bernardino, etc. My richest friends were from the Philippines.
The most powerful man who I ever had lunch with was Lew Wasserman who was the most powerful man in Show Business at that time, he used to eat with the workers at the cafeteria at Universal Studios. I also escorted Phyllis Diller at Bob Hope's Birthday Party when I worked at Universal. Universal was grooming me to be a leader, I learned a lot while I worked at Universal. I would love to own Universal Studios someday, we will see what happens.
And in my neighborhood the local gang is "La Fabrica" which means "The Factory" and they are an old Mexican-American gang that helped to protect the farm workers here, etc, and they protect each other in prison, etc.
Steven Spielberg lives in Santa Monica, and hopefully he will create more projects here locally in California, and Spielberg has his office at Universal.
Better movies will be made once we start making more movies and television shows here in California again.
Salute,
Tony V.
