Saw that sad story.  Salgado had a rap sheet that makes you wonder if more psych eval in prisons would better help identify violent sociopaths and keep them incarcerated.  We incarcerate too many people, but such sociopaths are generally not curable and need to be sequestered.

The bad people are capable of anything, nothing is beyond their evil and every living person is at risk.

That pattern was strikingly similar to how Mr. Trump confronted inquiries into his conduct while in office: entertain or promote outlandish ideas, eschew the advice of lawyers and mislead them, then push lawyers and aides to impede investigators.

In the process, some of his lawyers have increased their own legal exposure and had to hire lawyers themselves. And Mr. Trump has ended up in the middle of an investigation into his handling of the documents that has led the Justice Department to seek evidence of obstruction.

The path began well before Mr. Trump left office.

Guys like Salgdo?  Hospital?  Pfft!  Penal colony on an island surrounded by shark infested waters.  A plane can drop minimal rations on them once a month and then they figure out how to survive.  Or they drop coconuts on each other then cannibalize the victims.  I don't always lean Liberal.

I agree with Bart as far as it concerns sociopaths convicted of crime. What to do with those displaying strong sociopathic tendencies who however have not behaved in such a way to draw accusations? That is where I think it becomes more complicated.

If you don't, the bad people will get them, jump out of the bush wearing a camo suit, drag them into the bush [woods/forest], tie them to a tree and rape them for an hour.
Is that what you want for your daughters? ...of course not, but that's what you'll get.

Or, even worse, if anything could be worse...as happened to a father in America who stood on his home verandah every morning and watched his young daughter walk up the road to the school bus stop...a white van will pull up beside her, a man jump out and drag her into the van, the van driving off, takes seconds...and like his lovely daughter yours will never be seen again.

Gotta escort your daughters everywhere, gun/s ready to fire at the first sign of trouble.

And, most all things renewable energy are now made in China.
Yes, smart China now rules the world...everyone has to go to it for *everything*.

The West was warned not to embrace cheap labour China, but it wouldn't listen.
Chinese cars are walking out the doors of dealers in bambuworld.
Won't be long before great Ford etc vehicles in America are replaced by Great Wall etc Chinese vehicles...it's the price you see. [if nothing changes].

Much of the crap used to extract, store, transport, process, and distribute fossil fuels comes about the same way. The vast bulk of it can be recycled to support renewable energy systems without being missed in its current role at all, saving us a lot of mining.
