What a giant waste of time at school it was being subjected to learning Shakespeare.
Car maintenance, cooking, and house painting would've been more useful.

Well, in your case yes. It would be like dumping a 2005 Cotes de Beaune directly into a toilet, or teaching quantum computing to a particularly stupid cat.

I love Shakespeare.

Here is a video of me doing Prologue from Henry V.

https://youtu.be/x3ZMT-G_WHE

And Shakespeare is good as a Producer, if you do not have anything else to produce then you can always produce Shakespeare.

On the issue of House Painting, there is Robert DeNiro who said "House Painting" meant "killing people" in the movie "The Irishman," and Robert DeNiro would be good to cast as King Lear in "King Lear" by Shakespeare. Right now would be the perfect time to produce "King Lear."

Salute,

Tony V.

You are not wrong. Any time is a perfect time to produce King Lear. Even to this day after over a dozen readings and viewings, Howl, howl, howl! O you are men of stone! still hits me hard. The bleakest, devastating, heart rending moment in all of art, in any medium.

A disdain of learning Shakespeare shows a rigid and less than supple mind. Fortunately Bambu defies that characterization.  Wait

From NBC News on establishing the origin of Covid 19

A spokesperson said in a statement over the weekend that the Energy Department continues to support the thorough, careful, and objective work of our intelligence professionals in investigating the origins of COVID19, as the President directed.

Lawmakers said Tuesday it was important to find out the origins of the virus.

The main reason to understand where this pandemic came from is so that we can prevent a future pandemic from happening. It is not to play gotcha, said Rep. Mike Gallagher, R.Wis., who chairs a select committee on China. But [China] needs to be held accountable for their cover-up.

Sen. Tim Kaine, D.Va., said that China obviously is very threatened by this but that the lab leak story is not anti-Chinese.

It is  just you are  trying to get to the bottom of it so you can prevent the next one,he said.

Sen. Susan Collins, R. Maine, said confirmation of the lab leak theory would have an impact on U.S. policy.

There has been an attempt to discredit that theory of origin, which I have  never understood. To me we should want to know where the origin was. And we should also protest to the country, China in this case, that trying to cover this up, because that delayed our ability to respond to the pandemic, she said.

Shakespeare...not 'plain english'.
A waste of an education trying to understand the hidden meanings of some guy who lived hundreds of years ago in England.
When I left school "The Merchant of Venice" was totally irrelevant.
I would've been much better off being trained in "public speakng".
Never once in my post school life have I ever needed to know when the English kings ruled, and the names of the wives of Henry V111.
I would've been much better off learning about the human body, including in depth sex ed classes.

I am an Australian. Hath not an Australian eyes? hath not an Australian hands, organs, dimensions, senses, affections, passions? fed with the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject to the same diseases, healed by the same means, warmed and cooled by the same winter and summer, as an American is? If you prick us, do we not bleed? if you tickle us, do we not laugh? if you poison us, do we not die? and if you wrong us, shall we not revenge?

Lie.  No one in science is trying to discredit a theory.  At the moment, what slender data there is more supports the spillover theory.  To hold one theory stronger than another is not the same as trying to debunk a theory with prejudice towards it.  Data is always scarce where an authoritarian dictatorship is in charge of the area under study,  and many scientists (widely quoted) have pointed out we may never definitely prove any theory.

No. You would have been better off if you had been required to learn and memorize the portion of Sir Thomas More scholarship now attributes to Shakespeare.

Grant them removed, and grant that this your noise
Hath chid down all the majesty of England;
Imagine that you see the wretched strangers,
Their babies at their backs with their poor luggage,
Plodding to the ports and coasts for transportation,
And that you sit as kings in your desires,
Authority quite silenced by your brawl,
And you in rough of your opinions clothed;

What had you got? I'll tell you: you had taught
How insolence and strong hand should prevail,
How order should be quelled; and by this pattern
Not one of you should live an aged man,
For other ruffians, as their fancies wrought,
With self same hand, self reasons, and self right,
Would shark on you, and men like ravenous fishes
Would feed on one another.

O, desperate as you are,
Wash your foul minds with tears, and those same hands,
That you like rebels lift against the peace,
Lift up for peace, and your unreverent knees,
Make them your feet to kneel to be forgiven!

You'll put down strangers,
Kill them, cut their throats, possess their houses,
And lead the majesty of law in line,
To slip him like a hound. Say now the king
(As he is clement, if th' offender mourn)
Should so much come too short of your great trespass
As but to banish you, whether would you go?

What country, by the nature of your error,
Should give you harbor? go you to France or Flanders,
To any German province, to Spain or Portugal,
Nay, any where that not adheres to England,--

Why, you must needs be strangers:would you be pleased
To find a nation of such barbarous temper,
That, breaking out in hideous violence,
Would not afford you an abode on earth,
Whet their detested knives against your throats,
Spurn you like dogs, and like as if that God

Owed not nor made not you, nor that the claimants
Were not all appropriate to your comforts,
But chartered unto them, what would you think
To be thus used? this is the strangers case;
And this your mountainish inhumanity.

Pity that you viewed your education as a mere trade school. The world was your oyster, and you'd none of it.

For Red science begins and ends with his precious eugenics. Everything in non-debunked Physics, Chemistry, or Biology he takes as politics because of reality has a well know liberal bias.

No one, especially Susan Collins, is pointing fingers at Scientists.
Squelching debate is the real issue.
Today the New York Post reported
China is warning Twitter CEO Elon Musk against sharing posts that promote the lab leak theory of the coronavirus, suggesting that such commentary could hurt Tesla s relationship in irs second largest market.
How many other big tech and media companies doing business in China have recieved similar threats?
It took the US Government with a bevy of epidemiologists and micro biologists to finally open up the debate. Why do you argue against seeking the truth?

Bullshit.  It wasn't epidemiologists who opened up this faux debate.  (see previous posts here)

As NPR reported today....(quotation marks replaced with word quote)

According to the federal government, low confidence means quote the information used in the analysis is scant, questionable, fragmented, or that solid analytical conclusions cannot be inferred from the information.unquote

But at the end of the day, the origin of the pandemic is also a scientific question. Virologists who study pandemic origins are much less divided than the U.S. intelligence community. They say there is quote very convincing unquote data and quote overwhelming evidence unquote pointing to an animal origin.

In particular, scientists published two extensive, peer-reviewed papers in Science in July 2022, offering the strongest evidence to date that the COVID-19 pandemic originated in animals at a market in Wuhan, China. Specifically, they conclude that the coronavirus most likely jumped from a caged wild animal into people at the Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market, where a huge COVID-19 outbreak began in December 2019...

REPOST OF EARLIER COMMENT, FOR CLARIFYING POSITION
