Americans in areas such as here in Venice Beach, California, are talking about "Equity" for Citizens, such as housing for locals, etc, if you have been here for generations then you have "Equity" according to the Councilman in Venice Beach and you should have special benefits as a local that newly arrived residents do not receive.

But we cannot let society stagnate, we need to keep educating our people, and building up our communities, so we are building something to have equity in, and not just equity in a ghetto or equity in the work of someone else. We cannot have lazy and ignorant people who feel like they have special privileges just because they are a citizen.

And I hate the drug dealers, and people who are so fucked up that they sell death and suffering to people. The drug dealers are not building any valuable equity in our communities.

In order to have a community in which we can have equity, then we need to build a valuable and educated community. Everyday is a day to be building value in our communities, including helping the homeless, and educating the children, and helping the Senior Citizens, etc.

But, just because you have equity does not mean you are too good to pick fruit, and to work for Sunkist, etc, if the people are uneducated and unskilled then they need to take any honest job, even picking fruit, and those jobs are part of our equity, just as the jobs at Disneyland are part of our equity. And our movie studios and studio jobs are part of our equity, etc. Our opportunities are part of our equity.

When I lived in Malibu I had 2 children in my house, one girl was 8 years old and one was 15, and those girls knew that if they wanted to live in Malibu that they were going to have to work and study hard because they knew Malibu is expensive. The girls were not sitting around smoking pot thinking they were entitled to benefits from equity from being a citizen, the girls were studying hard, and they were doing things to help them to prepare for college, etc. They saw a rewarding life of hard work and reward ahead of them, not just equity from being a citizen. And they were using their blessings to improve their education, etc, for instance they did not have to do labor so they had time to read and study instead and also to volunteer for charities, etc.

Oklahoma, 1939...

Dinner table of tenant farm family living near Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Food consists of beans, cornbread, lettuce, fried potatoes, fatback and gravy, cole slaw and sweet milk...

----------

We have lots of equity, we have made a lot of progress since the Great Depression. I am surrounded by wonderful grocery stores with plentiful cheap food. Even with inflation a person could still make a pot of spaghetti pretty cheap and have some wine and live way better than the people did during the Great Depression. Our ancestors had hard lives.

The farmers had better food than the city folks, and that is still the case, we need to do a better job at sending farm fresh food from our farms to our poor people in the cities. But, we have equity, and we have made progress. And dams from 100 years ago are helping us to grow winter vegetables, etc.

We are making progress.

Nice.

The chicken eggs are still over-priced here, but the chicken prices are cheap, I got the marinated and spiced Mexican style chicken for ninety nine cents per pound, it is a great deal.

Danny Masterson was sentenced to 30 years...

https://www.nytimes.com/2023/09/07/arts/television/danny-masterson-rape-trial-sentencing.html

His life is over. One minute he was rich and famous living a good life in the Hollywood Hills, and now his life is over. He will spend the rest of his life in prison probably.

People need to learn the Golden Rule, and the Ten Commandments, and we need to respect people.

When I was in Cannes, France, for the Cannes Film Festival in 2000, it was like everyone there went to Charm School, everyone was beautiful and polite, we need to be the same way here in Hollywood. And we can have cheap hostels like in Rome, Italy.

Meanwhile, Danny can teach classes to the other prisoners about making a television show, they should make him a teacher for the other prisoners.

Hollywood has made it known that we will not tolerate the abuse of women.

Also, with the rise in crime in Beverly Hills people are hiring more Security Guards and Door Men, etc, so crime will fall quickly like in Monte Carlo, there is zero crime in Monte Carlo because of all of the private security guards all over.

When I went to the Cannes Film Festival in 2000 I was struck by how polite and well mannered all of the people were, it was like they all went to Charm School. So, that got me thinking, we need to have Charm School classes in our high schools here in Los Angeles for our high school students.

When I was in high school I had a teacher who was an actor who was friends with Michael Landon and with Ricardo Mantalban, and he taught us how to behave at Hollywood parties, etc. So, we need to do that for all of our students, we need to teach all of our students how to behave at a Hollywood party, and how to eat at a fancy restaurant, and we need to teach our people manners, and class, like they do in France. We need to have Charm School classes in our High Schools.

We can also teach them Ball Room Dancing, etc, the Minuet, and the Waltz, at least. Our whole civilization would go up a notch if we taught the youth Ball Room Dancing.

I can't eat ducks, kangaroos, deer, pandas, dogs, cats. bears etc...my mind won't allow it.

X

"Me Too",

Sydney businessman is released from prison on bail after being there for 3 weeks...charged will allegedly assaulting [two counts of "assault causing actual bodily harm"] his girlfriend [with an elbow].
...after CCTV of the incident was played to the Supreme Court.
Except for the CCTV tape being played, he'd likely still be there.
The tape shows his girlfriend as allegedly the aggressor, allegedly grabbing him from behind and trying to push and drag him from the building thru an open glass door...allegedly shoving him against a lobby wall. He allegedly hitting her with an elbow accidentally as he swung around.

His lawyer told the court...'It is very scary'. 'The pendulum seems to have swung far too far the other way.'
Indeed.
Scary as hell.
Swung so far that it is now wise for males to wear body cameras everywhere they go, 24/7/365 for self protection, so they don't find themselves nailed to the cross of injustice and locked up in a prison.

A climate scientist has admitted exaggerating the impact of global warming on Californian wildfires to get his research published.

Patrick T Brown claims studies about climate change are rejected by scientific journals if they do not 'support certain narratives' and they favour 'distorted' research which overstates dangers.

Well there you go.
Wonder if any others are doing the same.?

You found one disgruntled scientist whose professional detachment has been subverted by partisan right-wing narratives and is striking the classic victim posture.  Wonder who sponsored his research?

I'm guessing, based on my knowledge of the peer review process in publishing science papers, that his research was discovered to have methodological problems and compromised data that meant it simply didn't meet standards of scientific rigor.

That you had to dredge this from the Daily Mail  suggests much of the real story is missing here.

Or, that's what is widespread...having to conform to the 'narrative', or else.
It's what is allegedly happening in bambuworld high schools and universities.
So I'm  believing the scientist.
