One GOP congressman's struggle to be both pro-MAGA and pro-law enforcement.  With a meek rebuke to Steve Scalise.

"Contortionist" should be added to the resume of most Republican politicians these days.

It has been so long since someone has called me.a.racist! Please someone call me racist!
Translated for general use.

Nice obfuscation. Attack the messenger instead of the message. It's what the weak-minded like you always do. Bottom line, there is a long history of race based violence by blacks towards Asians in America.
By whites as well, as Bart noted. I was pointing out why your interest lies where it does, Forrest. And it is not sympathy towards the Asian community.

heh

Yeah, indeed.

Except those strong enough to say, "I appreciate President Trump's support but I am running on my own merits, thank you".

Need more of those.

You actually think Liz Cheney can be a future "leader" of the Republican Party?

If there is a future for the GOP at all, then she is as good a bet as any.

But it is unclear that there is.

So a party that just left the White House and is about to capture the House of Representatives will soon be defunct?

Please.

The GOP is already defunct, Kid.

The principles that it has claimed to stand for for decades are shredded by the current "leaders."

Small government? Local control? Fiscal responsibility? America over Russia? Law and Order?

All gone from your party's conduct for the last few years.

Both parties are somewhat transitory .  Even you couldn't deny that your party has become more extreme the last 14 years.

But stabilizing tenets do remain.

I dispute that the GOP has remaining stabilizing tenets.

The Dems have returned to where they were pre-Bill Clinton, I would say, but also that the "more extreme" positions of the moment are about two things:

1) Civil Rights

2) Survival of humanity in the face of even more extreme climate changes now and to come.

Also note: what you refer to as "extreme" in the Dems in Europe and much of the world is known as "moderate."

Standing up to censure, character assassination and threats while maintaining your principles and defending the Constitution?  You're quite right, KC, the GOP has no interest in qualities like that.

But perhaps in some possible future, where Trump has joined the Ethel and Julius Rosenberg Club of Infamy, the party could reorganize around her brand of conservatism.

Her brand of conservatism set the table for Trump and MAGA.

Rick Wiles, an evangelical church leader, says that vegan burgers are part of a "luciferian" plot to change human DNA so that they can no longer be saved by Jesus.

This is part of the ire against the Cracker Barrel folks.

That we makes everything coming out of your mouth a lie including the stuff you only say to yourself, Kiddo. It is time to pack up and leave the death cult you call home.

Yes - and the consequences for standing up against fear-mongering, lying, and power-grabbing is to be voted out and to be censured by your GOP colleagues.

Alligators are eating people in South Carolina.
Another person was eaten *today*...an 88 yr lady who was gardening and slipped into a pond.
Some wetlands or something.
Where was the fence?
The lady was in some sort of retirement complex.
Totally horrible, and totally preventable.
