Dr Charles Stanley just mentioned that we need to trust God, we may not understand it at the time, but we just need to trust God.
I do not know why I had to be poor and homeless on the streets of Los Angeles for 2 years, clean and sober with a few years of school and management experience and other work experience, I was out there on the streets begging for an honest job. But, I need to trust that God has a plan for me, and that everything is a part of God's plan.
One purpose of my experiences was that I can help other people, I have dined with Mayors and I given them my ideas on how to help the homeless and the mentally ill, and I not only studied Psychology and Sociology, etc, but then after studying I spent 2 years out there homeless on the streets so that I could experience what the homeless people are going through, then I have been trying to use what I learned to help the homeless and the mentally ill, and to make California a better place. And I am friends with the people who run the local Mental Health Association and I know how it all works. I experienced homelessness and hunger and poverty so that I can help other people who are going through those same things. I can teach the Mayors and others how to best help the homeless and the mentally ill, and I spent time out there on the streets so I speak from experience.
Also, our leaders are wealthy and spoiled and there is no sense of urgency when it comes to helping the homeless and the hungry and the mentally ill, but if they had all experienced homelessness and hunger then they would have more of a sense of urgency and they would be helping the homeless right now this minute.
And as a writer, and a poet, and as an actor, and as a movie producer and television producer I can help the homeless, etc, if I succeed. Like Ratso Rizzo by Dustin Hoffman I can create characters to help the homeless. And I wrote a movie script "Echo, A Rock and Roll Tragedy" which makes one fall in love with a drug addicted porn star, and you cry when she dies, the film is a tragedy, and it makes you want to save the woman, the way that we all wanted to save Ratso Rizzo. And I have written poems while sitting on a bus bench in Hollywood homeless, you cannot fake that experience, and I can use the experience to help others.
I also lost my Father who died when I was 9 years old, so I can help the Foster Children and the children without Fathers, I can relate to how they feel having grown up without a Dad, and not having a family business to work for or a Father to teach and help you. And many of the homeless people on the streets are Foster Children who aged out of the system and ended up homeless, they are not criminals, they just do not have a Father to help them, and to teach them.
God allowed me to be homeless and he allowed my Father to die when I was a child, so that I can use my experiences to help other people. I have a sense of urgency because I know what it is like to be out there on the streets homeless and hungry, and I have compassion and empathy. And God has brought me to Mayors and others so that I can pass on what I learned so that we can help people.
Also of note, I went to Mexico as a teen with Youth For Christ and we helped the poor people and the orphans in Mexico, and I can relate to the poor, and I have a special connection with them, helping the poor people in Mexico was a fantastic experience for me. And I can relate to the poor people of the world, and I know what it is like to be hungry. You cannot fake that.
I need to trust that everything that I have went through was all part of God's plan.
Salute,
Tony V.
