Many of our new immigrants work to help our homeless and our mentally ill, etc, for instance my dearly departed friend Lisa came to the USA from the Philippines and she was very wealthy, and Lisa spent her whole life helping the homeless people here in the USA along with her friend Rose who was a cousin of Gloria Arroyo who was President of the Philippines. Lisa and Rose helped the homeless their whole lives right up until they died. So, we have good immigrants who are helping the homeless.
And my Doctor was from the Philippines, he retired, but he was a great Doctor, and he used to help people for free, and he was a member of Doctors Without Borders, and his wife was also a Doctor from the Philippines.
At the Mental Health Association in Santa Ana they had a Psychiatrist who was from Vietnam, and her family came to the USA at the end of the Vietnam War, the Vietnamese were brought to Camp Pendleton and they were given a choice of where they wanted to live, and they chose Westminster here in the OC, my friend went to college to become a Psychiatrist to help the people here in the OC and to give back. Her husband was an actor, he was in "The Lion King" on Broadway. She was a great Psychiatrist, and she helped a lot of people.
Investing in education and training for our immigrants is the smartest thing we can do, and we need to have libraries for the Farm Workers, and schools for the children, and we need to teach the immigrants how to speak English, etc.
And there are rich immigrants who are good Catholics who are helping the poor in the USA, etc. And for a while I had a Jewish Psychiatrist who was from Israel, that was at the MHA in Lancaster, California. The immigrants can help the poor if given the support and the opportunities.
Salute,
