With the high cost of living then we need to educate our people on Business, and about how to make money.
When I lived in Malibu there were two girls in our house, one was 15 years old, and one girl was 8, and they knew that Malibu is expensive and they knew that if they wanted to live in Malibu when they grew up that they were going to need to know how to make money. The girls studied hard in school, and they both planned on attending college, because they knew that they were going to need to know how to make money when they grew up.
For me as a kid, my Father died when I was 9 years old, and we were poor, so as a kid I used to work with my Grandmother who was a Dog Groomer (My Grandfather died when I was a baby, and my Grandmother was a widow, just like my Mother was a widow) washing dogs for her, at 10 years old I was working 12 hours per day washing dogs in order to help my Grandmother to earn money to pay the rent and to buy food. So I learned very young that it costs money to live and that it takes work to pay the rent and to buy food. I spent a lot of time washing dogs with my Grandmother, and I ended up managing a Dog Kennel when I grew up, but I learned the hard lesson that just because you are honest and just because you work hard does not mean that people are going to pay you fair. I was training to buy the kennel and to own my own dog kennel, but the boss gave the kennel to his step son instead of selling the kennel to me. So, I worked hard for many years to build up a good business for other people, and they received all of the rewards, while I ended up homeless in my home state. I wish the kennel that I worked at was owned by my family instead of being owned by people outside the family, it was a waste of time to build up that business for people who I am not even friends with. The boss was a World War II Veteran, and I learned a lot from him, but I never made any money.
So, I wasted my whole life just trying to make money so that I could afford the cost of living. And I went to school and studied and trained, and tried to make myself more valuable so that I could make money so that I could find a good woman and so that I could get married and buy a home and raise a family, etc.
I was born and raised in Southern California, and we had a lot of stars as customers at the Dog Kennel, and the stars had good lives, they used to drop their dogs off at the kennel and they used to tell me stories about the far away places they traveled to, etc. So, I went to school to try to work in the Entertainment Industry, but I could never get hired.
I was a cook at a casino in Nevada for 2 years, I did not make any money, but I learned how to cook and I learned how to run a casino. Maybe someday I will open my own night club, and I can cook for my customers, maybe in Rome, Italy.
I have a movie script that I wrote, and I have a poetry book that I wrote, both are good, and I should have turned them into money ages ago. Then I could invest the money into a night club in Rome, etc. I met the guy who wrote "Amistad" and he made enough money to open 5 McDonald's restaurants in South Africa and he hired his family members to work at his restaurants. I have always been a good writer, and my movie script is good, and my poetry book is good, I need to turn them into money.
Anyhow, we need to teach the children young that they need to study hard and that they need to learn how to make honest money because the cost of living is expensive. I am 55 years old now, and I have never owned a home, I have never been married, I do not have any children, and I was never able to make any money. I know how to manage a Dog Kennel and I know how to train dogs, but there are not any kennels around here, I looked, if there was a dog kennel here and if I could make enough money to pay rent and buy food then I would be working at the dog kennel. And I know how to cook and run a restaurant, etc, but that does not pay unless you own your own restaurant. And construction labor was a waste of time for me, I never made any money, you need to join a union if you want to make money in construction and I never joined a union and I never made any money, I was getting paid the same low wages as the illegal immigrants from Mexico, you need to join an honest labor union if you want to make money doing construction labor. I also worked at Universal Studios, but they paid me minimum wage and it was all a waste of time.
Anyhow, I am not complaining, I accept my life for what it is. I will continue to try to get my movie made and to try to publish my book, without complaining, and maybe I can do some acting and filmmaking someday, we will see. I will just quietly continue to try to do my best, and I want to go live in Italy and I want to surround myself with good Christians, we will see what happens.
But, the message that I am trying to convey is that I want for the children of the future to have a better life than I have had. I want for the children of the future to be able to have good lives and to be able to buy homes and raise families without living in bitter poverty. I was homeless out on the streets here in Hollywood for 2 years, and I want for other people to have better lives than I have had.
For me, sometimes I have to work hard to keep a good attitude, and sometimes it feels like it would be better just to die and be done with it, life is too expensive and I am tired of being a bum. I want to have a wife and kids and a home, and to be able to travel and to enjoy life.
Anyhow, the message is that we need to educate the children, and we need to teach them how to make honest money, so that they do not have a life of poverty and suffering. And we especially need to help the Foster Children, and the children without Fathers.
Salute,
Tony V.
