My hometown of Lancaster, California, just started their own local police force, but it will not deal with the everyday normal crimes that the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department handles, the Sheriff's Department will still deal with 911 calls, etc. The new local Lancaster Police Force will help abused women, and the homeless, and the mentally ill, etc, it is going to be wonderful, hopefully. If they help the abused women, and the homeless, then I totally support that.

There also needs to be Mental Health Associations like the one in Santa Ana, and there needs to be Wellness Centers like in Orange. And there needs to be safe Sober Living Homes, etc.
San Diego State University is the best at training Psychiatrists, so they are the school to contact when you want to build a new mental health center.
