Perry school Iowa shooting;

Dallas County Sheriff Adam Infante confirmed the shooter had been identified and was born in 2006 which would make them around 16 years old.

The shooting began before the school day started which police have said meant there were fewer students in the building then there might have been later in the day.

And obviously no security [let alone absolute security] to protect the students from a shooter intent on evil.

Schools [school officials, and in their towns and cities] are obviously 'asleep'...not understanding that;

"The bad people lurk in the shadows, waiting to pounce...the moment you get security careless."


I feel entitled to criticise, as on the screens of my tv, computer monitor, devices, the grieving families of the victims are shown, along with photos of their dead children.
Also parents rushing to the schools hoping and praying their children are safe.

It all can so easily be prevented.

Right on!  Yes, strict nationwide gun control laws and strict enforcement of them IS the answer.  Look at civilized countries that aren't in the thrall of a small extreme and belligerent minority, and how they limit civilian use of firearms and their rates of death from shootings.  Fuck the gun lobby, fuck the NRA, fuck the GOP for pretending they give a shit about public safety, and fuck the delusional macho cowboy shitheads who think guns make us safer.

Metal detectors, bag searches, fences, gates etc.

 When you've destroyed the GOP fhere'll still be school shootings, because there'll always be guns in rural areas for hunting...and I can't see the American people voting for the abolition of handguns.

An eatery and market in Boyle Heights was raided by a mob of thieves, and I just saw on the news that the community in Boyle Heights has rallied together to support the family who owns the eatery and market. There is some poverty and crime in Boyle Heights but there is also Wendy Carrillo who is very dedicated to helping the people there.

And the area around Lafayette Park is also nice, even though there is crime, and the community there can work together to make things nicer.

There is also the Occidental movie studio which is often used by Disney and others, and also it is close to USC, etc.

Anyhow, the community in Boyle Heights has rallied together to restore the faith that the family business there had, and there are lots of good people in Boyle Heights. The community also started a Go Fund Me page for the people and the community is all giving them money. The good people are standing up to say that there is still good in the community.

Inglewood is not going to be a ghetto anymore, lots of building and development and investment has happened in Inglewood, and billions more is being spent in Inglewood. When it is done then no one is going to be able to recognize it, it will be a totally different place than it was in the past. The days of gangs and crime in Inglewood are over. Now it is all about Tourism and money and jobs.

While some areas such as in San Francisco have been in decline, Inglewood is being re-imagined and is being rebuilt and developed.

And as I have been saying, California needs cheap hostels all over where people can get a cheap shower and a bed for $15 per night.

We also need to teach the children to avoid drugs and crime, Europe is having great success with using education to battle against the fentanyl, etc. And if we can give the children a love of reading then we will have succeeded, and we need to build lots of libraries. ( A funny thing, I read that in Iraq the book stores just leave their stuff out because they said that the people who read do not steal. ) And with the rise in Tourism in Inglewood they can sell tacos to tourists instead of being criminals and selling illegal drugs, etc, there is no need to be a criminal if you can make an honest living, they can sell tacos like Danny Trejo.

In October, I met with Culinary Union Local 226 workers in Las Vegas. 

Many union members were concerned about how they were going to pay rent, put food on the table, or make other personal sacrifices. Yet, they were prepared to strike.

In the following weeks, union members won a 32% pay raise over five years, thanks to the power of collective bargaining.

Yesterday, I came back to Nevada to celebrate their historic victory. The Culinary Workers Union Local 226 has shown our nation what is possible when workers fight, organize, and stand together.

It is great that the cooks in Nevada have unions now, that is wonderful. Cooks are artists and deserve fair pay and good treatment. When I was a cook at a casino in Battle Mountain, Nevada, we were paid the same low pay as the dishwashers, maybe fifty cents more, it was insulting. I worked on the Night Shift, and it was just me and a dishwasher and a waitress from 10 PM to 6 AM, we ran the whole restaurant with just the 3 of us on the Night Shift. I was so busy every night that I did not even have time for a break, I would work constantly from the time I arrived until the time I left. And the cooks did not receive tips like the waitresses. But, I learned how to cook and how to run a casino, it was like attending cooking school, I did not make any money but I learned a lot. Then, after I quit the casino gave me a letter of recommendation that helped me to get into the AADA, they gave me a good character reference, so that was cool. But anyhow, it is good that the cooks in Nevada have unions now.
