When the USA was forming there was a lot of men, and very few women. Nevada has bordellos because there were not any women in the West. In New Orleans they used to bring in ships full of women, being one of the few cities with lots of women.

As Kiwanis helps to rescue the women of Iran from abuses, then many of the Persians are coming to California. Los Angeles has almost 1 million Persians now. And many Persians are famous on Social Media now, such as Mahlagha Jaberi, and Mahlagha is working hard to improve the rights of women in Iran, and I am sure they are bringing the Persian women to California. The Persians also love France, and Farah Pahlavi lives in France.

Of note, many of the refugee women from Ukraine are stars on Social Media now, and they can help to guide the other women from Ukraine to safe places, such as to the Kiwanis Village in Victoria, Canada. And more safe Kiwanis Villages can be built around the world wherever needed. Kiwanis can sell Kiwanis brand bottled drinking water to raise money to help refugees, etc.

In the poor parts of Los Angeles it is all young men, with no women, the women all leave the bad areas and the women move to live in the nice areas. Malibu is full of women, when I lived in Malibu a lot of my neighbors were women, and in Topanga there is a lot of women, the women live in the nice safe areas. The same will happen in Iran, all of the women will escape from Iran to come to America, and soon Iran will be all poor lonely men. The women refuse to live in bad areas, and they all leave to live in the nice areas, Malibu is full of women.

Australia-China In 2022, Australia exported $123B to China. The main products that Australia exported to China were Iron Ore ($72.5B), Petroleum Gas ($14.2B), and Other Mineral ($8.09B).

----------

Then Australia can send wheat to Lebanon, and to Singapore, and to Hong Kong, and to Taiwan, etc. And Australia can send the prime beef and wine to Taiwan, etc.

And Australia can expand trade with Mexico, and we can send Northgate Markets to Australia along with Trader Joe's.

And California can work together with Australia on Movies, Music, Fashion, Television, etc, and we share the surfer lifestyle.

Over one in four people in Canada right now are new immigrants, and Canada is a leading destination for immigrants.

https://www.statista.com/topics/2917/immigration-in-canada/

And the Kiwanis Village in Victoria, Canada, is a good safe place for refugees.

Canada is a huge nation, with fewer people than California, there is a lot of wide open land in Canada where the refugees can live in peace and abundance.

Canada is a good safe spot for the refugees.

Only the rich in Australia seem to care about climate change anymore.
The rest only seem to care about surviving...now, today.

"Live for today, for tomorow we'll likely be broke, homeless, and hungry" seems to be the cry.

Lines at the food banks are getting longer.
Massive immigration causing shortage of housing, and rent increases.

Climate change is way down the list of average joe's concerns.

It costs $22.80 for fuel to drive 100km (62 miles) in a Corolla. [$25.50 if you buy 98 octane fuel to keep your engine clean and put some zip in your old car's 'mind'.)
Bring back the coal-fired steam cars!

Is this the Tony forum?

Feel free to join in, it's not exactly 'rush hour on 5th avenue'.

Maybe suggest some solutions to the nation and world's problems...because help is needed, solutions are needed.

If your hand strays and you click or tap on the thread name instead of the recent page numbers, it will take you to page 1 of the thread.  Kid's query was on page 1.  Possible that unalert members could not notice the mistap.

The Rob Reiner created  movie God and Country opened in 85 theaters recently and took in an average of $451 per theater.

It is likely the few moviegoers that went spent more on refreshments and parking than on the tickets.

The movie tries to compare  the rise of Christian Nationalism (which is unsubstantiated) to the Nazi takeover of Germany.

The movie flopped.

And people say there is no good news anymore.

Documentary.  Docus don't get BO figures or general release the way mainstream movies do. it has been out for a month and opened in 85 theaters.  This is typical of small independent production companies like Oscilloscope, which don't reach larger numbers until picked up by streaming services.   And none of this has shit to do with the merits of the film.  Rotten Tomatoes, a review aggregator site...

92 percent of 24 critics reviews are positive, with an average rating of 7.2. The websites consensus reads

God and Country offers a chilling and bracingly effective look at political forces aligning in an effort to erase the barrier between church and state.

That Christian Nationalism has taken more and more antidemocratic positions has been well-documented, especially in the book which the documentary is based on.  And by members here.  Maybe you missed that in your apparent struggles with your iPhone.

As we work to lift up the poor orphans in Mexico, etc, then we must remember the basics of a Strong Mind, Strong Body, and Strong Spirit.

They need libraries with lots of books and schools with good teachers, and they need gyms and sports and healthy nutritious foods to feed their bodies, and they need Churches and Priests and Nuns, etc.

There is a lot that we can do for the poor children, but those 3 things make a great foundation to build on, a Strong Mind, a Strong Body, and a Strong Spirit.
