Welcome to Hell OJ!

On Jan 1 1969 at the Rose Bowl Heisman Trophy winner OJ Simpson scored on an 80 yard run against Ohio State( a game the Buckeyes won over So.Cal to clinch the National Championship)

But at halftime OSU Coach Woody Hayes confronted his defensive coordinator, Lou Holtz, and asked
How could Simpson go 80 yards against our defense.?????

Holtz replied

That is all he needed.!!

Biden wants to give a free college education to all Americans, and I support that, but there are people who are trying to block it, so here are a few thoughts.

We can start by giving a free college education to the orphans, and to the children who do not have fathers and who are being raised by single working Moms. The orphans and the children without Fathers are starting off way behind everyone else, the least we can do is to give them a free college education so they have a chance at a good life.

We also need to train the former coal miners in Kentucky for the jobs of the future, the coal mining jobs are not coming back. And right now 25% of the adults in Kentucky do not even know how to read and write. Certainly everyone would support improving the literacy rate in Kentucky, and to do that we need to educate teachers so that the teachers can teach in Kentucky, etc.

And certainly republicans would support a free education for their children, and for their brothers and sisters and cousins, etc. My Grandfather sent my Mother's Cousin to college to become a Pharmacist, and he now owns a Pharmacy in Fontana, certainly people would support educating their family members, even if they themselves do not want an education.

We are fortunate that Biden wants to educate our people, and we need to look for ways to make that happen. And certainly all parents would like for their children to be able to go to college, we need to look for ways to make it happen.

Salute,

Tony V.

Lots of people are talking about having equity in America, and about the benefits of being an American, and I think that providing an education for our people would be a huge benefit, and we can build schools and libraries instead of prisons and welfare housing, as we can teach people healthy parenting skills, and healthy conflict resolution skills, etc, and the people can be taught skills that will help them to gain employment in the 21st Century economy.

We are lucky to have a President who supports providing an education for our people, and we need to seize the day.

Good.

Next up, universal healthcare.

Free college education.
Universal healthcare.

Any candidate doing that would "walk into the White House".

Then 4 weeks paid annual leave...and they'd stay President for 8 years, guaranteed.
Paid paternity leave...the icing on the cake.

10% of wages/salaries, paid monthly in addition to the wages/salaries by employer into a retirement superannuation fund for the employee.
The festive candles atop the cake.

Hooray for the President.

I think that was as neat a summation of the republican plan for our economy and the rule of law as I have seen. No wonder America is dumping the GOP.

Nah.
You seal the borders...stop the 'flood'.

It'd just be American workers catching up with what workers in other Western countries have.
Legal workers, allowed in as legal immigrants on 'skills' visas, or
on 'guest worker' visas, to fill any shortages of needed labour.

That requires legislation for reforming the system for legal immigration which Republicans refuse to address.

Mass murder in Westfield giant mall in Bondi Junction (several kms from Bondi beach) in Sydney's eastern suburbs this afternoon, Saturday 3.20pm.

Six people killed by a rampaging man.
Several others wounded, including a baby a few months old (its mother one of the dead).
AR15?
No.
AK 47?
No.
Handgun?
No.
Stabbed to death with a large knife (about 12in).
Lone female cop entered the mall, directed to the location of the alleged killer, she advanced behind him, he turned around, refused to drop knife, so she shot him dead.
Good, saved lives.
Mom, herself stabbed, handed her baby who'd been stabbed in the abdomen more than once, to two brothers who were shopping.
They rushed into a store, took cover, grabbed shirts in the store and used them to stop the bleeding, rang cops and ambulance.

The spirit of 9/11, the brave "let's roll" guys on the downed plane, lived on today in Bondi (bon dye)...as a guy shopper grabbed a portable bollard and confronted the killer near the top of an escalator, a standoff, preventing him from exiting the escalator and killing more people. Saved lives for sure.
A very brave thing to do, the killer being taller than him.

Bondi, eastern suburbs Sydney...Jewish community central.
Horribly sad for the victims and families of the mass murder stabbings.
Nothing to say any of the victims are Jewish.

You'd hope it was a lone crazed individual with mental illness and not a terror attack.
The question is continually being asked of the cops, "who was the killer?" "terror attack"? "any motive?"
Too soon for the cops to know.

***

Police Commissioner just said "we believe it was not a terror attack."

Time to YouTube "Land of Hope and Glory", Vera Lynn.
...and sing it in memory of Christianity in Britain, which is almost dead.

"Land of Hope and Glory, Mother of the free,
How shall we extoll thee, who are born of thee?
Wider still, and wider, shall thy bounds be set;
God who made thee mighty, make thee mightier yet!"

Humans, at their finest, can be amazing.  Without its strict gun laws, Australia could have lost many more lives to a maniac with an assault rifle.
