"One Way Out" and "Done Somebody Wrong" were covers. Elmore James.

If I recall the story correctly, was it Eddie Vedder that sang Behind Blue Eyes, and Daltrey said "Well I guess I'm not singing THAT song anymore."

Know what I mean?

Richie Havens Handsome Johnny

I had to find it after I heard Here Comes The Sun.

I forget how much I like Richie Havens.

Did Lucinda rip off Neil?

His song "Pocahontas": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVcDCAKCtMY

Her song "What If":https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJh-rRa8v3s

Sure would like Yank's opinion on this one.

Walter Becker was only 67?

That's too young anymore. An artist of that caliber.

We've come to believe the Grandma Moses myth about how artists last well into the 90s.

And there are many already older, still doing fine work.

If you made it out of you 30s and 40s alive. you were s'pposed to be good.

I didn't follow the life. but there is some amount of Who knew a life of heroin, young boy prostitutes, and rock and roll were bad for you?

I always have some Steely Dan ready to roll. and roll it does.

Rest In Peace.

"Reelin' in the Years" remains my favorite Steely Dan song, and featuring Walter's guitar work.  Sad day.

Perfect song...

From that same LP... One of my favorite lyric segments, "... sue me if I play too long! This brother is free!"

A creative force, a great band.  I liked "Deacon Blues."  Doesn't sound like Walter got to "die behind the wheel."

Pretty much all those 70s tracks were fine songs, could be listened to over and over.  Walter played a mean guitar.

I think it was a dumb decision by Spotify with a predictable response.

I suppose their legal team thinks that the language from the contract is narrow enough to protect them.
