Well that's given old Willy Blake a proper thrashing!

The mattress dog kennel skit is one of my favorites.  In some respects better than the oft-lauded shop sketches (cheese shop, dead parrot, etc) in its elegantly convoluted loopings of absurdity and illogic.

TMBG aren't just musicians, they are existentialists with an answering machine.  (the dial a song thing they had, btw, is part of why so many of their songs modulate so many times - too long of a sustained tone would cause the machine to terminate the call.  Birdhouse in your Soul had 18 key changes.)

And they wouldnt understand a word we say
So well scratch it all down into the clay
Half believing there will sometime come a day
Someone gives a damn
Maybe when the concrete has crumbled to sand

Very headline-y today.  Well except for giving Mary Tyler Moore a good thrashing.  Turn on the News remains fresh as ever.

Universal has a theme park in Beijing, China, now, and so Universal has a foot-hold in China, and Universal has the largest Record Label in the world, so now Universal can sell music in China.

If you can change how people think and feel, then you can change how they behave.

My friend Jon is selling Christian music in China with CD Baby, and i Tunes, etc, with his band "Narrow Intercession," and he is also selling music with his other bands "Nasty Habits" and "No Reaction" which has a Black Singer and "Cognitive Dissonance" and he also did a re-release of an old album he made with "The Brood" and he also produced a band named "Neighborhood Watch" that is making a come-back. The Chinese love American music.

Salute,

Tony V.

There's a fine line between irony and tribute.  Great job here.

Yep, just some ordinary guys having some fun.  While I can't say much for the vocals, the instrumental break was great.

Where I grew up, scientists in the future will map the brains of newly deceased baby boomers and discover Free Bird deeply imprinted on the synapses.  There was no resisting this synaptic engraving process.
