The mouseover text with the original of this reads:
"(After setting your car on fire) Listen, your car's temperature has changed before."

Bambu, this is largely for you, in response to your accurate, yet misleading, comment that the climate has changed before. That it has changed before is not comforting.

All very nice, but...the climate is in fact always changing.
The globe heats up, the globe cools...all by itself.

Pollution from [partcularly old] coal-fired power stations is bad news.

Fracking the nation to extract gas is not without horror though.

Trump chases the pooch to scru like he used to women, he chases failure, which is why he is in hock to the russians, and why he is going down, and why he was never a billionaire, and why he is rearrangining the captains chairon the hindenber.... [boom]...it's a when thing now...

For the sake of the discussion, if we all agree that it heats up and cools down by itself (which, honestly, nobody disputes, by the way), but we *also* grant that humans have done nothing to influence it (which is a subject of contention)...

Do you know when the heating period we are in will stop?

Do you know what the impact of rising temperatures will be?

Do you believe we should do nothing to try to mitigate the impact of rising temperatures on humans who live on the coasts, on humans who live in areas that are vulnerable?

Then, Bambu, try granting my point briefly, and consider what you would recommend we do if you thought the climate change threat were real.

Ted Cruz announces he has a "staffing problem".
Doesn't he know that there's a pill for that now?
He probably watched an add for one somewhere on his way to Moms Bang Teens 20.

Here's the simple factor Bambu

If significant climate change is man made and reversible, we can do a moon shot to save the planet.

If there is no measurable effect on climate from human activity, we can slow the accretion of a lot of harmful shit into our air and water by burning less, spur a tin of economic activity by making the push, and create a future where governing powers lose their main incentive to suck up to petro-states, especially the ones that spend mega-petro-bucks (gonna be a technical term sooner or later) to radicalize disenfranchised Muslims everywhere including down in Oz.

Whether it's the last second comeback shot for the win or building on an early lead, it's a shot you got to take and a shot you better make to maintain a favorable standing.

Coal wasn't so cheap or available before mechanical enhancements to mining and distribution. Those eventually led to several hundred years of advancing the ball. Making those enhancements required investments at the time that were viewed as mad ventures, fools errands, and simply hopeless. Here we are with renewables with wind and solar looking like promising tracks.

Let go of the dying branch (coal, oil, gas for those of you following at home) and get yourself aboard a greener one before the old branch dies and breaks.

I went 50+ years without hearing "President Jefferson Davis".

Maybe I just had some dumb schoolz.

Meanwhile the current Commander in Chief (synonymm - president) has "dinner across the aisle" tonight.

How then for Ms Pelosi and Mr Schumer to explain to their peeps that they willingly broke bread with "Hitler", muses one Fox News anchor.

How then, indeed?

Like anyone getting their news from Fox, you are confused.

It was Obama who was equated  to Hitler by the opposite party, not Trump.

The question of Climate Change is a very pragmatic one for Bambu and his ilk….It goes something like “Hmmmmm…..climate change….Do I want to believe in anything like that? Well, no, it is much more pleasant to believe that there is no such thing. So, therefor, I choose not to believe in it. End of story”.

looking at Josh's cartoon, the only conclusion to be drawn is that the internet is the tipping point in global warming.

Pogo was right.
