Cicada Brood V is about to emerge. I miss the old Times. This is but a pale fire of the old days.

Did you see this, WP?  Sort of "CSI: Bard" but fascinating.

I loved this typo, spotted the other day in some right-wing rant about people who work at McDonalds, why they shouldn't expect $15/hour.  In describing the tasks, the writer cited,

"...flipping burger, making fries, toasting beagles..."

Perhaps he was thinking of the McDonalds franchise in China??

Will Shakespeare, born and died, both on April 23.  (pedants note - his baptism day was April 26, which is sometimes given as his DOB.)

Cervantes died on the same.date, 10 days before Shakespeare.

I had heard it was a day before WS, on April 22.  I am not sure what "10 days before Shakespeare" means unless it's a typo.  Cervantes was buried on the 23rd, though.  Sorry so late responding to this.  Been AFK mostly the last couple weeks.

Gregorian/Julian. Calendar-wise.

D'oh!  Of course.  Brits switched calendars later.  And you put that so wittily.  Sad when wit is wasted on me.

A man and woman fell deeply in love and were married.

After some time the husband says that he read about a way to make their marriage better, and he suggested that they each make a list of the things that annoyed them about the other person, and then they could work on those things and make their marriage stronger.

The next morning they sat at the table with their coffee, and they brought out their lists.

As the husband read all of the things on his list the wife began to cry. After he finished reading his list he happily looked up and asked her to read her list.

With tears running down her face she handed him her list. The page was blank. As she told him that she loved him just the way he was, and that she would not change a thing, he began to cry. They embraced, and he understood.

When people are truly in love they love each other's perfect imperfections, and they would not change a thing.

Salute,

Tony V.
